It looks like a cat was dumped here in my neighborhood a few days ago. At first, I thought its' tail had some sort of skin disease but upon further inspection, it looks like someone tried to cut the hair off!
He is NOT neutered! All my cats have been neutered, given shots and are just spoiled brats...but they are all loved and very well cared for.
For some reason, this cat thinks I'm its' mama. And like the sucker that I am for cats, I fed him. He seems to be sweet, loving though a little skiddish. He's another long haired orange tiger tabby...like my Chance.
So I guess I should resign myself to being the crazy cat lady and give this guy a name. I'm thinking I will call him Jack...as in Capt. Jack Sparrow.

I have always said and thought that animals find us, not the other way around.
Looks like you have a new owner,,

A dog has an owner; a cat has a staff.
I love them both.

That is not only inhumane . But it is morally wrong . I guessed, whoever did that, had a very difficult childhood . No morals or Respect , whatsoever !

That kind of behavior is so typical of people who fail to understand how little difference there is, and how many similarities there are, between all life forms, human and otherwise.

I've spent many dollars taking care of strays that were dumped for one reason or another. My darling Misty was put out by her owners because she became pregnant. When I took her to the vet, he told me she had had one leg rewired together. Later I found out the people who had owned her accidentally ran over her. They put big bucks into rewiring her leg, but did not get her spayed. The vet said her birth canal had been crushed so she might have to have a C-section when the time came. And of course, I would be paying for it! She had the kittens when I was away and had no problems with giving birth. However the babies were long and skinny. I guess they adjusted because of the birth canal!
My mom always used to say that stray cats had a directory of people who would take care of them and my name was at the top of the list! LOL

It looks like a cat was dumped here in my neighborhood a few days ago. At first, I thought its' tail had some sort of skin disease but upon further inspection, it looks like someone tried to cut the hair off! It may be a genetic problem with your new cat.My daughter got a free barncat that I spent over $250 on trying to find out why it kept loosing large amounts of hair.It always looked like someone tried to shear it. The vet said it couldnt be cured because it was a genetic problem, but she also said the cat wouldnt live another year. That was four years ago and the cats still looks half shorn, but is a good mouser.

It looks VERY obvious that someone did cut the hair/fur. Next week, Jack goes to the vet. Until then, he will NOT be allowed in the house. I"m not really looking forward to Jack coming in as I'm sure there will be a HUGE catfight over territory!
