Who has more ribs, men or women?

I know the answer, and I am sure many of you do as well. I am hoping that people will weigh in with different answers and we can see where the discussion goes. My guess is that it will stray from human anatomy fairly fast.
By the way, when I first heard this question, I got the answer wrong..

Women have more ribs than men. Why? I don't know. I don't believe in religion so I'm not even going to go there. But I bet alot of people will.

So, why do we know what we know.. and how do we know it is true.. anybody?
