The past few days the phrase has really started to eat at me. I am very curious, and want to know how it is possible. You have a single woman who is also a single mother...yet classifies herself as a stay at home mom. HOW is that possible?? What about bills, and food, and clothes, and transportation ect. Does she have a sugar daddy? Is she even single?? Perhaps you guys can give me a bit of insight on how a single mother can be a stay at home mom????

The tax payers, who don't stay at home, may also be contributing to that life style.

Anything worth doing once is worth doing 2X. However, it was much easier when I was in my 20's

Sometimes a parent has a child with needs great enough medically, that they may be in a home otherwise, it would still cost the taxpayer for that Mom, working minimum...or even a little better, to work. And have the state pay for hospice, respite, in-home nurse...etc.
There has to be something going on you don't know about, to just be annoyed at a term

Alimony, Community property laws, Child support enforcedment, Welfare checks, social security and disability checks, Lottery winning checks, apartment manager, Un-Employment checks, Airess/ inheritance, a mom that works from the home.
There are numerous ways to be a stay at home mom/ (person).
Do some homework.

I was going to say a work at home mom too... and those that work while their children are sleeping ..
A stay at home mom can be one that is there taking care of her kids while the children are awake usually and in need of supervision and to teach them so she can technically be a stay at home mom and work a night job same thing for a stay at home dad I believe we have a few here that do that its just takes good planning and to want to be able to be there while their children are growing up

Alimony, Community property laws, Child support enforcedment, Welfare checks, And then we wonder why some woman have SO many children Obviously i didnt play my life out correctly to live for free. I should have thought more into that I guess. And I suppose if you have 4 kids by 4 different fathers that helps matters. I think it is sick that alimony is allowed to replace an income. As a matter of fact, I dont believe alimony should be allowed. Period! And well, welfare...we wont even go there. We know my stance on that!
So I have to wonder than, if one mother is getting child support from 4 different men, which could easily be $1600 a month (assuming they all pay)...does welfare consider that income? And then add in to the equation for alimony from one of those fathers! Girls we are certainly doing things wrong!! Shame on many of us for having a good conscience i guess, and working to keep ourselves afloat!
I was going to say a work at home mom too... and those that work while their children are sleeping Beck i agree, there are plenty of people out there who do that! And thats great. those are not the people who i would classify as a stay at home parent however...because they work either from home, or work outside of the home...creating an income from that work.

"I'd pay double taxes for that mom" WhoaWhoaWHOA! I'm sooo not on board with that. Perhaps a personal contribution on your behalf, Lois? Please leave the collective out of this. (Sorry, my ass is still sore from mailing in my check(s), this year I vow not to work so much, the penalty for ambition is harsh)

I did not get alimony and the support my ex was to pay for his sons was cut by 200.00 by me so he could get a life. I also was fortunate to get royalties from a invention I had for the the first 8 years my sons and I were on our own. After that I started a house painting business and always made it clear to my customers that my sons needs came first and when they were off school I was off for the day. I also made it to their games. It can be done without alimony and a bit of creativity.

Yer Kidding right?? collecting child support from even one father can be hell sometimes IF you get any at all trying to get it from more than one ??? You do realize that there are those women who have lost their spouses and children who have lost their fathers fighting to protect you and yours either by serving in the military or on your local police force or fire fighting force etc. .. those can also be considered stay at home moms.. and some of them might NEED help in one way or another to support their kids ..and I for one would gladly give it .. you are outta line with some of your posts Princess .. when you live the life of someone in dire need to help support their children I would hope that others would be there to help you .. not take what you have said and use it against you so.. just so that your CHILDREN would not suffer because of your ignorance
