RQ: As I stated earlier in this thread, I am not demanding that women cover themselves from head to foot as is the custom in some countries. I only ask that women make an attempt to at least cover the anatomy commonly associated with sex. Is that really so much to ask? NO: Perhaps to them it is. After all, from where did you get the right to ask them to do anything to accomodate your taste/sensibilities? And for what it's worth, I don't see women running around with the "anatomy commonly associated" with sex bared in public much. Most places that will get them a charge of indecent exposure, just as it would if a man were to do the same. (Men just have so much less anatomy commonly associated with sex that it takes less to cover it up.) Frankly, I consider mouths very sensuous and strongly associated with sex. And I don't live in a culture where they are required to cover their mouth for fear of my finding them attractive/arousing. Now, if you're talking about getting aroused because some lady is breast-feeding her baby on the bus, you need to see a therapist. Most of us got past that "National Geographic" stage when we were about 12. Frankly, I agree with the idea that "The largest sex organ is the brain." And for years I've said that the sexiest thing about a lady is enthusiasm. (The mere fact she wants me and is willing to let me know that is the most arousing thing a woman can do, as far as I'm concerned. But I don't assume just because she is presenting her best face to the world and our spheres of influence intersect that she wants me. I need something a little more concrete than that.)
What it sounds like to me, RQ, and I can only speak from my perspective, is that you are basically saying "I (and by extension all men, an inclusion you have no right to assume) have no control over myself, and therefore if you tempt me, it is your fault. So, don't tempt me!" First, that is exactly the epitome of the kind of power men assumed over women that feminism is all about dispelling. You do not have the power to make them acccomodate you. More darkly, that lack of power to order them to accomodate you results in a subtle but dangerous implication that "If you continue to tempt me, I may not be responsible for my actions." As I said before, a half-step away from the inappropriate rationalization/justification "She was asking for it!"

I only ask that women make an attempt to at least cover the anatomy commonly associated with sex. Actually, pal , the only part of the body associated with sex is - genitals , and women cannot possibly expose their genitals for the reason their "anatomy associated with sex" is INTERNAL . Whatever particular part of female body makes you sexually aroused is YOUR problem, you cannot possibly expect women to spend their life guessing what part of their body to cover in whose presence.
RQ, make up your mind. No law prevents you from flaunting your body , as long as you keep your genitals covered . So, why would women be required to cover their bodies entirely ?(They are way more aesthetic to look at than you are ,anyway and, besides, I doubt any woman ever was walking down the street with her genitals exposed . They even cover their nippels , which you are free to expose. ) Besides, there's no law preventing you from uttering any BS you please to scam women into providing sexual favors to you , so what's your problem? You can also flaunt your posesions to get yourself a partner , so why shouldn't women do so with the means Mother Nature equipped them with?
The point is - the fact that you obviously failed to attract women you find attractive by using legal means ,hardly can be the reason for demanding that women stop being attractive , you know. As you pointed out -society ,indeed, encourages women to flaunt their femninity , just it encourages men to flaut their masculinity . Looks like pretty fair and equal attitude to me. Where the hell do you see "double standard"???

Wait a minute , there's something I'm missing here. Isn't it common knowledge that people in general and men in particular find being sexually aroused so pleasurable that they are willing to pay for it? Men usually encourage women who succeed at being sexy and disaprove of those women who either fail or don't really care to do so. Isn't selling sexual arousal the only objective of porn industry , exotic dancing, striptease, etc? I mean - noone really expects performers to actually have sex with every man they got excited ,that's not in their job description. But it turns out some men actually feel unhappy about being aroused , like RQ does. That's an interesting phenomena . I wonder if it's simply the case of insecurity caused by not being in control of his own sexuality, low self-esteem ( which prevents him from going after a woman he's attracted to since he believes he's not going to win her affection anyway unless he uses force ) or is there something else to such an unusual attitude

It's quite obvious , newbie, that our buddy RQ is under fallacy that the only reason women are not attracted to him is that he's not legally allowed to expose himself . Sorry to burst you bubble, pal, but what you call your "anatomy commonly associated with sex " is only associated with sex when it's erected, otherwise it's only accosiated with urinating & /or impotence Therefore, walking down the street with your Mr Floppy exposed will cause rather pity than attraction. Though, there's always option for you to get heavily engaged into those "36 hours of erection" miracle drugs and have your medicated Mr Woody available to flaunt 24/7

OK guys now come on. We guys think about sex about a million times a minute. It doesn't matter what she wears. Me personally I like a woman to be herself and dress the way she feels. No one is forcing me to look. If anything they would have to force me not to look. I agree that certain ways of dressing I find more "lady" like. But who am I to impose my standards on anyone else. Like I said before. No one is forcing me to look.

So, we have a new spokes person for feminism, and many are trying to ruin her.
Many are women themselves, what was that line ? " all she shares with Hilary is a chromosome "
Many are asking, do women support strong women, or just the ones who share their political beliefs?
I'm not going to ask if it is fair, because nothing in life is fair, to me fair is a place you go to empty your wallet, eat cotton candy and try not to puke..
But my question is, do you approve of how the media is treating this woman?
I know this could/should be a political question, but to me, it is also a question about feminism itself. So, I thought I would start here.
I think there are a lot of very scared people, and the fear is causing some knee jerk reactions. Some that may divide people farther than their political affiliations.
I think going unchecked, will only leave our nation with a long list of career politicians, many of whom claim they support feminism.

To be honest, I don't care for any-though McCain has humor-but I have a deep-gut bad feeling about her, and I can't shake it.
Bit rather than go into it AGAIN ouside politics....that's just my feeling.
