Friends are a very important part of most people's lives
A good friend is someone who will support you no matter what, someone you can trust and who won't judge you, someone who can accept you for who you are, and just lend you an ear when you need to whine or complain etc.

I can complain I have "friends" to hang out, to have dinner or party,to visit places etc, all of them tell to me I am funny and always laugh etc....

but at the end of day I am alone, none of them is calling me to ask for help , or to talk more private to share opinions etc (as in Sex and the city )
If I want some opinions etc i come to write here to ask you...

I mean I really miss having the friends who come to your door or calling me unexpectedly.....

Sometimes I feel is not difference between the people i go out organized, and the people I meet out and we exchange some words, I mean is only that no more... we are stranger...

I miss having such friends!

What is your opinion about it, any advice?
and how is the situation for you?

As we get older, into relationships, etc,, we spend our time differently.
Maybe we have kids, either little that need attention, or older that are into sports and such.

I don't think it's that those that were good friends are gone...they may have just had to prioritize their life a little differently.

I agree with Loreli. I am always surprised by the number of real friends I do have when the chips are down
For me, I value my solitude and feel reassured that someone will be there when I need them and visa- versa

Right now, aside from my sister, my best friends are all people I teach with. That's one reason I'm hesitant to retire. Seems like the retired teachers more or less drop out of sight and we don't see them anymore.
Moon, I come home alone and there are not that many phone calls that come in. But YOU can always take the initiative and call someone just to talk for a few minutes. After a few calls, maybe make a date for lunch or something on the week end.
One reason I do my walking and water aerobics during the summer, at least I get to interact with people for a while each day!

Someone that likes (if not needs) having you around, and doesn't feel that you have extended your stay.

Other than my daughters, my sister and my mother, I only have one real friend. We only talk occassionally but she calls when she has a problem or needs a shoulder...unfortunately, she is not usually available if I have such a need...we have such busy lives, it's tough to maintain a friendship these days...plus, she lives half way across the US!!!

When our lives slow down (if that ever happens) we may become close again...maybe not. If I need a shoulder, I call my mommy!!! lol But if it's about a man...I call my sister...

Sex in the City is fiction...normal people don't live lives like that!!!

building bonds of friendship, or any relationships are not easy... I've a few close friends that can call me any time, day or night, and we just do for each other...

Last winter, my nephew broke down in his van outside of town... My brother in law called me up, I called my best friend to borrow his car trailer, when we got there to pick up the trailer, he was outside of his house with the trailer, holding a full thermos of coffee, and a couple extra cups... he came with and helped us load the van...

on the way he said his wife was upset about the call for the trailer... (it was about 10 pm), He said that he told her, "Remember when we broke down outside of town last winter at 3am? Mike came and got us... didn't tell us to call a cab, just came and got us..." he said she got really quiet after that...

I dunno, you might be surprised at how many real friends you have, when the chips are down, not to mention who they turn out to be...I know I've gotten some shockers (probably provided a few too).

Part of having a friend is being a friend, but another part is letting people know when you need one. If you're looking for someone to talk to on a day to day basis, consider a roommate. For me, growing up, my best friend was my Aunt Mary - we'd sit at the kitchen table crocheting and drinking coffee (I was a weird teenager) and discussing whatever...people, relationships, politics, philosophy - all that good stuff. She was the first person I told that my ex was going to propose...she was also the first person to tell me to stop and think about it...I should have listened!
