It's my personal belief that there are those who arrive for work early on a daily basis and those who are regularly 15 or so minutes late. Some bosses get really ticked off and some let it roll. Personally, I find the excuses interesting, and I believe the lateness should be excused, on a sliding scale, depending on the creativity of the exuse. Your best excuse below...and you can post late if you want. I'll see you on the way in.

The garage door openor wouldn't work...therefore I didn't even know how to manually open the door....until my child got up and showed me how to open the door and thus getting my car out to come into work this morning....

A ruthless man ruined Monopoly playing for me. In fact ANY board game playing. I'm a realist. Now pull up your pants and write another excuse. Your hair is a friggen mess...and what's that smell?

Okay this really happened to me..and my excuse was valid and a lot of folks at work didn't believe me..
On the way walking to work for the late shift a guy jumped outta a big oleander bush and tried to rob me or what have you ..not sure what he would've done if I handn't took the lit cigarette I had in my hand and ground it in his face...
a few did believe me later because they were with me at the bar later that night when a guy who looked like the guy that tried to rob me walked in with a bandaid on his face.. he saw me and left really quick yeah I was a bit shook then for sure

True stories? Fine.
Slammed on my brakes so as to not to hit something in the road, and bing, bang, boom, I snapped the brake lines. No emergency brake either as I had yanked that up as well.
So the guy who ran in front of my car lived, I had no brakes. And well, without brakes, I made it to work in record time. Walked in the door and threw myself into my bosses arms crying. I was terrified! Poor guy, he had no clue what to do with me.
