If you are driving a car 60 miles an hour with lights on, will light be traveling the speed of light plus 60?
2nd question it is beginning to look like a scientific probability that future generations will have the ability to time travel. Do think that you have ever met someone from the future, or for that matter anyone not of this world, including extra terrestrials, ghost spirits etc?
What would you say if you could meet one?

Taken from IRC. (2000)
Subject: John Titor Alledged time traveler from 2036. Occupation: Soldier Mission: Recover technology destroyed in WW III
"Although there is debate over the exact date it started, on November 02, 2000, a person calling themselves Timetravel_0, and later John Titor, started posting on a public forum that he was a time traveler from the year 2036. "
"In 2036, I live in central Florida with my family and I'm currently stationed at an Army base in Tampa. A world war in 2015 killed nearly three billion people. The people that survived grew closer together. Life is centered on the family and then the community. I cannot imagine living even a few hundred miles away from my parents. "
Question: "What would you say to any world leaders who might be reading this right now?
Titor: "Revel in your confidence today because you will not win tomorrow."
Question: "Is there some sort of new world government in place by 2011?"
Titor: "On my world line in 2011, the United States is in the middle of a civil war that has dramatic effects on most of the other Western governments.
Question: Can you give us some personal stories of your past?
Titor:"I was born in 1998 so I do share some childhood memories with all of you. I remember going to Disney World at Christmas and I remember going to the beach in Daytona. When the civil "conflict" started and got worse, people generally decided to either stay in the cities and lose most of their civil rights under the guise of security or leave the cities for more isolated and rural areas. Our home was searched once and the neighbor across the street was arrested for some unknown reason. That convinced my father to leave the city.
From the age of 8 to 12, we lived away from the cities and spent most of our time in a farm community with other families avoiding conflict with the federal police and National Guard. By that time, it was pretty clear that we were not going back to what we had and the division between the "cities" and the "country" was well defined. My father made a living by putting together 12-volt electrical systems and sailing "commodities" up and down the coast of Florida. I spent most of my time helping him.
Outright open fighting was common by then and I joined a shotgun infantry unit in 2011. I served with the "Fighting Diamondbacks" for about 4 years. (Hearing in my right ear isn't as good as I would like it). The civil war ended in 2015 when Russia attacked the U.S. cities (our enemy), China and Europe. As unusual and bad as my childhood might seem, I wouldn't trade it for anything. Africa is not a pleasant place to be in 2036 although I would characterize it as recovering."
Question:Which states are the worst to live in?"
Titor "When you can't drink the water its bad everywhere."
Question: Name any near future event that makes history."
Titor: "You mean other than the mad cow pandemic, the breakthroughs in high-energy physics and the unknown functions of the 5100? I realize I've only been on this board for a few weeks but I assume you've read the other postings I've made about these issues months ago in order to be so definitive."

What if you accidentally get into someone's vortex? Is there ever a chance of getting out and living to tell about it?

The speed of light never exceeds the speed of light. We might call it a constant now, but I'd say that's only based on our current understanding...
Hmmm....now time travel, that opens ALL kinds of possibilities...
If a time traveller were to father a child in the past, that child could conceivably be his ancestor in the future, so he could actually be his own great-great-grandfather.
Wonder what dna tests would make of that one?

Whe we are traveling 60,we are actually slowing in relation.
When astronauts fly in the space shuttle they actually arrive at there destination a couple milliseconds in the future

I never say I absolutely disbelieve something that has no proof to its contrary.
But, no-I don't believe him.

In relation to how much time has passed on earth yes, just as speed is relative depending on the position of the observer (I spent a summer working through the math on this when I was 14 - I was semi-paralyzed and in traction and had nothing better to do...I think my head still hurts from it though).
As for Titor...I think it's highly unlikely that he's real, but Johnny Seven was one of my favorite Star Trek episodes...

look up the theroy of relativity..it's physics that say the speed of light does not vary with time or place and that the speed of light is independent of the motion of the observer
although the speed of light can be slowed due to refraction...it's all physics ....

Yep, sorry, the speed of light is defined as a constant, while speed itself is relative to the position of the observer, and time is relative as well...which is why the astronauts were actually milliseconds younger than they would have been if they'd spent the time on earth.

Since paradox is self correcting, it stands to reason that time travelers would not be able to go back in time any earlier than the development of time travel. You won't see any time travelers from the future until a time machine is invented.
The speed of light is always the speed of light.
