Not a cent! I have a bicycle and can bike to work.
I'm sorry, but after years of being run off the road by idiots with a cell phone glued to their ear, it just feels good to be able to gloat!
I promise I won't do it again.

I don't even want to talk about it.
If I could bike to work, I would.

I really do share the pain and I worry about the effect of these prices (currently $3.65 per gallon in my area) on our economy, but at the same time I do feel a bit safer--as would anybody who ever saw their life flash before their eyes when a two-ton SUV blasts by at 60 mph with just four or five inches of clearance.
Talk about mixed feelings.

He drives a diesel, which is quite a bit more than gasoline these days (it used to be a whole lot cheaper)...and people wonder why the price of everything in the stores is going out of sight.

everything has gone up a bunch here... Gas is almost 4.00 a gallon here, Eggs went from 99 cents a doz, just a couple months ago... to 2.99 I saw yesterday...
but there is no inflation, because Food, Housing, and Energy don't count as "Costs of Living" , what are the essentials used for besides living?

$1.79? That's like FREE eggs!
...and I could never figure out how less-refined diesel wound up costing more, either...it's basically home heating oil (which has also gone through the roof, I hear).
hehehe, I ALMOST went out and bought a bicycle, then practicality took over: I looked down at my recently FAT KNEES. ~duh~ (but I am looking into a scooter -- just can't decide between gasoline or electric)
Then again, I only fill my little Tracker tank every couple of months...and that's just so the gas won't go bad

The short answer is that diesel is being used faster than it can be produced. Here's a link that explains several of the reasons why diesel is so expensive.

RQ....diesel has gotten our products to the store/people for years...I still can't understand why it's not being government regulated!
