Dear Diary,
I was caught by surprise when listening to a song today. It's funny how songs can bring you back and however briefly, cause your heart to flutter and a tear to well in your eye. As the next song started to play, I felt a wave of gratitude for not being in that place anymore. Contentment feels so much better.

Dear Diary,
I was talking to a friend about a blog I read here recently. A man was saying goodbye to MD after deciding that a number of years and a number of failed relationships had made him decide that it was time to step away from this box, carefully, and back into real life.
He made a point that I have considered seriously since reading his blog; what would I, as a single woman, be doing with my time if did not have "this" (Internet, dating sites) to occupy and preoccupy my mind and time?
Still thinking, dear Diary..you will be the first to know what I decide.

Dear Diary,
It's supposed to be hot again today. 90's.
I have to get to a baby's baptism, reception and then
back to the hospital to visit mom, who is dying.
It struck me that while one life is ushered in, another
is making an exit. The circle of life.
I just want to go back to bed for the entire day.

Dear Diary,
Today I played hooky from work. I really enjoyed sleeping for a few more hours and making pancakes for brunch.
I'm trying to get used to these southern Summit county metro parks but they just don't hold a candle to the parks "up north." I got plenty sweaty hiking around down here, but the park just didn't feel like home. However, I did witness a little girl catching a fish in Little Turtle pond and seeing the excitement on her face was the high point of my outdoor excursion.
Just one more week until little Sampson gets neutered and declawed.  The vet will be keeping him for 2 whole days! I'll be glad to get him home though.

Dear Diary,
There's a porn store on the highway in my city. Right on the city line or thereabouts, mingled in with the posh green grocers that the summer people like to shop in, and a steak house (that the summer people also like. )
The shop is as brown paper wrapper as you can get, except for the marquis advertising special appearances by porn stars. Does anyone really see these names and get excited to meet them? And I wonder, on this strip for summer people and tourists, how many of them are regulars in that store. How many go to greet the stars. How does this store stay afloat, or did I just fall off the turnip truck?
