not only walking on the beach but for instance spending some time in the countryside or visiting a town, or do you feel more at your ease wearing a comfortable pair of light shoes to protect your feet ?

I'm a California girl... although I left California over 20 years ago... I LOVE going barefoot! The feel of warm sand or cool grass is such a pleasure after having to wear shoes all winter long!
You can take the girl outta Cali, but you will never take Cali out of the girl

Just about the only time I go barefoot nowadays is when I'm making that 10 hour drive to NC. It's probably illegal in most states to drive barefoot but, who cares.....

I like barefoot only when it's hot outside. I think your feet get rough and yucky if you walk around everywhere without shoes. I'd rather my feet stay nice.

Only in the house. 20+ years of standing on concrete have ruined my feet and I need to have good arch support or these puppies will howl at me. Walking outside without shoes wouldn't be fun at all for me/

I go barefoot at home (inside the house) and the rare times I get to spend on a beach. Otherwise, I prefer foot protection...you never know what you could be stepping in.

I carry a pair of sandals in my car in case I want to stop at the store or whatever. I hate wearing shoes and will go barefoot as much as possible in the summer. It's such a feeling of freedom to have my feet uncovered

I'm with Sir Bacon--I have feet problems and according to my podiatrist, should NEVER go barefoot. So only at the beach for me. I even wear shoes all the time at home--that's what my crocs are for.

Yeah Gallows, what pam said!
I don't like wearing much of a shoe at all....but I do wear something as a rule & unfortunately, at this time, I am dealing with a foot injury that requires I wear as much support as I can.

Barefoot as much as possible.. I keep shoes in the car for emergencies.. It really pissed my last client off when I kicked my shoes off as soon as I got in the house....

funny - they had a story about this on Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood yesterday about a barefoot IT guy, in the report it was stated that many of our foot problems stems from wearing shoes, and especially improperly fit shoes.
I myself love going barefoot as much as possible.
also, in googling the barefoot info I came across this: America Barefoot Club

As much as I love being barefoot, I have learned the hard way that barefoot can be painful. So the beach, and if I had a space of my own with grass in it, there. But I live in an apartment and I know too many people let their dogs run free in my little stretch of 'yard', so shoes it is.

because of my back issues, I've nerve damage in my feet, so they are painful and tingling, so I wear shoes or at least sox, nearly all the time...
