No matter what a person says, someone, somewhere, will take either exception to it, or find it offensive in some way.. /sigh...

“Did You Make Anyone Happier Today?”
At the day’s end is anyone happier because you passed his way? Does anyone remember that you spoke to him today? The day is almost over and its toiling time is through. Is there anyone to utter a kindly word of you? Can you say in parting with the day that is slipping past, That you helped a single brother of the many that you passed? Is a single heart rejoicing over what you did or said? Does the man whose hopes were fading now with courage look ahead? Did you waste the day or lose it? Was it well or sorely spent? Did you leave a trail of kindness or a scar of discontent? As your eyes close in slumber, do you think that God will say, “You have earned one more tomorrow for the work you did today.”?

I love quotations because it is a joy to find thoughts one might have, beautifully expressed with much authority by someone recognized wiser than oneself.

Two ways to look at life... either life's a bitch and then you die or it is an opportunity to learn and grow.

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired, and success achieved.

The person who tries to live alone will not succeed as a human being. His heart withers if it does not answer another heart. His mind shrinks away if he hears only the echoes of his own thoughts and finds no other inspiration.

But there's increasing evidence that oxytocin is also involved in deeper bonding. It certainly plays that role in a much studied little rodent called the prairie vole, which is famous for its fidelity to its mate. The critter's brain releases a rush of oxytocin as it bonds with its beloved. Block the chemical, and voles fail to make a connection. Inject more of the hormone, and they fall for each other even faster.
All we need is oxytocin...
