if that is the case I think that the blue book is ??? unless its a classic or antique its basically not worth a trade in value you might try like looking at craigs list or recycler for ads for cars like yours tho get an idea of what others are asking

if this was california... to have it repaired..he would have to prove that it was a cherried out classic car.. with receipts for all the work done to it.. or the most he will get is an average of what an 1983 Nissan Sentra 2-door sell for in the used car market.. which.. here is not much...

Loreli and Becky... I checked both sites earlier today and had no luck at all. Heaven... you're exactly right. A friend of mine just suggested that I go to a local bank... he said that one of them should be able to help me. BECKY... actually, the car will turn 25 years old next month, and I HAD planned to get antique tags for it.

Hey Becky... Yeah, this car is amazing! Great gas mileage, never had any problems with the engine(Knock on wood! ), and it has 322,358 miles on it... and still purrs like the proverbial kitten! And, perhaps, most importantly, I can do a LOT of the work on the Nissan myself. The Buick has damned COMPUTERS in it, and the engine is crammed with so much crap that our "beloved EPA" has mandated go into our engines, that it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to just change the AIR FILTER!

stormy if you are getting good gas mileage and it's still purring -- It doesn't really matter how many miles you have on the car as long as you are doing regular maintenance - oil changes, etc. your car will probably outlive all the others on your block. With the price of gas these days I'd keep it. You'll probably end up better off than others with gas guzzlers.

It won't outlive anything if it's all broken and crumpled up, though.
(It got smashed up in an accident...'cept that was in another thread -- he'd like to have it fixed, but needs "ammo" to hit the insurance company with )

Original MSRP: $6,649 Low Avg High Retail $1,075 $1,400 $2,125
Rough estimate based on 1985 2-door sentra.
If the AC works, I say keep it for the good gas mileage.

prices only go back to 1988. Quite right heaven. So for older cars like that you can only gather up recent sale data, not easy to do for sure, and get a general idea of the value of the car. That is what I have done for my 1970 Pontiac LeMans.
(It got smashed up in an accident...'cept that was in another thread -- he'd like to have it fixed, but needs "ammo" to hit the insurance company with That is right too. However if it is not listed in the blue book then the insureance company is going to screw whoever it is because they can. Just like they did to me when my 1980 Yamaha got destroyed by a nut in a hurry. If you need to recoup anything from them then you can try to negotiate, which probably won't do much good, or you can get an attorney. Unfortunately in the current environment insurance companies don't listen to well unless you mention litigation. It is a sad state for sure, but you can thank all these people that want to get over on the system for how things are set up now. If you have a legitimate claim you will usually get the short end of the stick because of how many people there are that file suite because they can and don't really have a legitimate reason to do so, other than they just want money and see a chance to get some.
