I learned to stay away from certain geographical locations, such as: Sunnydale, Amityville, Elm Street, Transylvania, and Nilbog, anywhere in Texas where chainsaws are sold, the Bermuda Triangle, or any small town in Maine.
I got this idea from someone else. But it could be fun.

Check closets before going to bed. Sleep with the lights on. Never go down into the basement alone! Do not go investigate weird noises, just pull the covers up over your head and they will go away!
Edited to add: Never sleep with an arm hanging over the side of the bed.

All dolls are alive and want you dead.
With pleasure comes deadly pain.
Don't push the ugly kid in the lake.
Don't burn the child molester in the boiler room.
Never have sex or you will be killed first by the wacko killer f*** if you are female.

Here I have listed my 10 golden rules for surviving a slash fest.
1, Ensure that the Car is in servicible condition eg. Battery charged, plenty of fuel, regulary serviced etc.
2. Stay together. Do not break up in splinter groups. That's just asking for trouble.
3. When holidaying in a run down cabin in the middle of no where in an eerie forest, if you come across ancient scrolls or books with Latin names like, Book of the Dead, The Path to Hell etc.. resist temptation and don't read it till you get home.
4. Resist the temptation of having drunken Co-ed parties on the anniversary of huge mass murders, especially when the killer is still at large.
5. When you "kill" the killer/monster , make sure that the killer/monster is actually dead. Put 30 rounds into the head, decapitate them, burn the body etc. You know the minute you turn around, they will dissappear.
6. Note* - This next comment may sound racist and for that I appoligise. If there are black people in your group, ditch them. It is a well known fact that they attract the bad guy and thier deaths are the most grusome.
7. Listen to the little cutie kid. It is quite likely they :- a). Have special anti - killer powers. b). They have worked it out and no one will listen. c). They always know the best hiding spots.
8. Under no circumstances should you ever accept balloons from clowns that live in drains.
9. When buying property, research the history. The first sign of previous occupants that have committed mass murder, little kids stuck in water tanks, or mysterious dissapearances, give the place a miss. Resale will be hell.
10. Don't pass off the crazy old man or woman who is constanly warning people of impending doom. They may just be onto something.
I hope these comments help and feel free to add

It's people like you that get killed off right when the sun sets.
Standing around asking stupid questions.
We will make sure you are at the end of the line when we creep through the house trying to sneak out. Somebody always grabs them by the neck and pulls them into the hidden door in the wall.
Scooby doo man....don't you watch the classics?

This thread is cracking me up.
Always lock the door before you start watching. Always use the bathroom before watching. Have the remote handy to mute, and a pillow to cover your eyes. Pull the blinds. Have a friend over that will talk all the way through it and wreck the mood.
And be in your underwear and hi heels, like Lip said. You know...for when you have to run screaming from the house.

1. Always fall a minimum of once while being chased 2. Lose your car keys, house keys when danger is imminent 3.. Do need pick on the nerdy girl and dump pig's blood on her 4. Do not check out the strange noise in the locker room showers...just leave 5. Do not wear clothing that can get stuck in moving parts, such as automatic garage doors 6.do not mess with fate

Life is dangerous, one should always wear body armor and carry a rocket launcher with them everywhere for safety.
Edited to add: Never sleep with an arm hanging over the side of the bed. Most people don't realize this but one of the most dangerous things one can do in life is to let their toes extend pass the edge of the bed. You are just asking to get them grabbed by whatever is sleeping under there.

My mom was a bit twisted...but...
She told me there was a witch that lived under my bed...and she had an axe...and if I slept with any body part hanging off the side of the bed, that witch would come out and chop it off
And what I learned from horror movies?
Never have sex at any sleepaway camp. Ever.
Don't chase pigeons around heavy equipment.
And never ever EVER take your camera on the roller coaster.

Always carry a gun to the shower... and KNOW where your car keys are so you don't fumble around looking for them and have to run into the woods..

On dark, stormy nights, avoid creepy old motels with even creepier people behind the front desk. And if that creepy person calls out to Mother in another room, run like hell.
Avoid small beach towns during avian migration seasons.
