Please say a prayer for my cat CJ. He has some kind of tumor on his leg that will not heal up. It looks horrible. He has been on meds for 2 weeks now and tomorrow I will take him back to the vet to see what else can be done.
I know animals usually do not show pain but I've learned that he is very talkative when he hurts. He's been following me around the past few days, talking to me. I know people usually don't request prayers for animals, but I have no kids, so the cats are my family.

I will say a prayer for CJ that he heals and gets better. And I dont think your request is strange at all, as an animal "mom" I myself know how difficult it is to see a loved pet in pain or sick. And I will pray that the vet visit tomorrow goes well. Take Care -Ash

Thank you Dixie. This poor little guy has been through a lot. First it was skin allergies (and still is), then ulcers in the mouth. Now the tumor. My vet is retiring in 2 weeks and I don't know what I'll do without him! Although there are 2 other vets at the clinic, but this one is my favorite.

Hopefully the vet can get him all healed up before he retires. I just looked at the pic of the 3 cats that you have and the solid black one looks just like mine.  ...They are all cute  .

I dont know what religion you are but Saint Francis i the Patron saint of animals-
he has a beautiful prayer for you:
Heavenly Father, the bond we have with our friends of other species is a wonderful and special gift from You. We now ask You to grant our special animal companions your Fatherly care and healing power to take away any suffering they have. They trust in us as we trust in You. Give us, their human friends, new understanding of our responsibilities to these creatures of Yours. Our souls and theirs are on this earth together to share friendship, affection, and caring. Take our heartfelt prayers and bless these ill or suffering animals with healing Light and strength to overcome whatever weakness of body they have:
(Here mention the names of the animals needing prayer).

Sign, there is nothing at all silly about praying for our pets. I pray for mine all the time. Hope your sweet little guy gets well again real soon and that you find a vet that you will feel comfortable with.

Curly thank you for the beautiful prayer.
And to all my friends here at MD, thank you so much for the prayers and thoughts for CJ. I can hardly handle the suffering of an animal. They don't understand it and should not have to go through it.
I'll let you know what is going on after I see the vet tomorrow.
I've joked with my vet that he's now the 2nd one I've retired!!
