I'm an extremely shy person and have a fear of public speaking too to the point I'm even impressed by ordinary people who are on reality and court tv or talk shows....I wonder are there other people in the same boat as me?

I'm not impressed by people on reality TV, etc because they are actors. A lot of actors are shy, BTW.
As for public speaking ~shiver~ I hate it! I remember when I had to take a speech class in college as one of my prerequisites. I would go up there to give my speech and could swear that everyone could see me shaking and hear the trembling in my voice. I wound up with an "A" in that class, though, and my best speech was about the book "Green Eggs and Ham". LOL
The class helped and I needed that experience in nurse management to run meetings.

I am super shy...........  and umm little LGQ.......you are correct about that on comedians........there extremley shy............I happened to know quite a few of them  and you would be amazed.......

You might not know it from my posts...but I'm shy IRL. I don't like big social functions- - have to force myself to make conversation and often jones for the moment I can get out of there.

I was shy but being a teacher, you just have to stand up and take charge. I'm still kind of shy when meeting new people and often watch and listen a while before joining conversations.

I hate public speaking too...but seems since I am out of high school I am alot better...my my dad died over a year ago..I got up and read a poem for him and I wasnt as nervous as I thought I was..maybe as time goes bye..you get less and less nervous...and isnt a big deal as it use to be
