I just turned 40 last year, and I love it! It feels no different than any other year...it's just a number! Don't let it get to you

I agree....the only thing about that milestone in my life, a bunch of friends took me gambling, filled my hotel room with black balloons. We had a blast!

According to my friends, I had much more trouble turning 30 than I did turning 40. And after that, 50 was just nothing at all. Now 60 that may be a hard one!

I was on top of the world when I turned 40.  (or totally insane) I dyed my hair burgundy, went out and bought some outrageous clothes. (for me anyway) Even a pair of Tommy Jeans!  (wore them one time)  Had a wonderful summer... my b-day is coming up too. Yeah, I am closer to 50 now, then 40, but I will have an even BETTER time when I hit 50!
Life is for celebrating, and not worrying about numbers. We just get better as we age, and keep having fun! It makes the younger folks wonder what we are so happy about.

It all depends on what's going on in your life...my mom was going into her last year of life as I turned 40 and I was her caretaker, with a couple of teenaged boys besides. Those were some tough years - my 60th birthday was probably the easiest and happiest birthday I've had so far...wonder what 70 might be like? OK, 65 will be my next milestone, I think I'll wait till after I get through that one before I start thinking about 70.

40 was great... of course I have had a few health problems to deal with in the past few years.. but I am looking forward to 50..I just hope I make it there...

Daisy you'll be fine. I'm older than you and have a score of health problems.
I just turned 57 a week ago and it wasn't bad at all. I bought myself some flowers and a small individual german chocolate cake that I shouldn't have eaten but dang it! It WAS my b-day! My best gift was pics my sister sent from when I met her and my niece right before the camping trip in Indiana. My funniest gift was the 57 dollar gift certif my brother sent me. All in all, not a bad b-day at all.

Yes. My husband at that time passed away. So my 40th came and went unnoticed; at that time it was totally irrelavent.
