Ok, folks...the questions are:
Do you procrastinate? If so, how do you get back to buisiness and "just do it?"
Do you throw worry into the equation so that the longer you procrastinate the bigger the issue gets?
How have you worked through it?

I will procrastinate on small, relatively minor issues. But if it's important and needs to be done, I just get it over and done with...hate having that hanging over my head..and also my memory isn't as sharp anymore...if I procrastinate too long, I'm likely to forget about it altogether!

You wouldn't think setting up a vacation could be so hard, would you? I put it off for a couple of months, until my son finally told me I needed to get it done (Hawaii in August). It's done now - the bad side of waiting, I couldn't get the accommodations I wanted; the good side - it was half price (time share on points system).
And yes, I ended up worrying myself sick, because I kept thinking I'd screwed something up in some paperwork for the timeshare (I hadn't) and dreaded trying to fix it. It did however, take an hour on the phone, half of it listening to music.
That was just yesterday - an older one that could have been a lot worse was back in my 30's - I was having severe headaches and frequent blackouts. Here I was, a single mom, two kids and no child support payments coming in, thinking no way could I afford any real down time if it were a brain tumor or something like that...so of course I put off going to the doctor. When I finally broke down, we talked for about 15 minutes and he led me into the x-ray room for a skull scan which indicated that my sinuses were blocked solid. He cleared it up in one day flat.
A coward dies a thousand deaths is indeed true!

No. I'm a freak. I take care of things right away. Boring. I know.

I use to procrastinate so badly that it would often adversely affect my life. Then, over time, I trained myself to put the brain on pause and the body in action. The decrease in day-to-day anxiety has made it well worth it!

In my working life, I do not procrastinate. In my private life, oh boy! I love to put things off because there are just too many more fun things to do instead of cooking, cleaning, laundry. I'd much rather lie in bed all day with a good book or play on the computer for hours at a time.Eventually things do get done but they can go for weeks if I feel like it.

Odd procrastinator here. Why do at all what you can endure the consequences of for not doing? (Yes, it occasionally bites me in the backsides.) But, when I decide to finally tackle something, I tend to do the unpleasant parts at first, to get them out of the way (where possible) so I am not dreading them any longer. Kind of "Do it when you finally have to do it, but save the best for last."

The Procrastinator's Creed:
1. I believe that if anything is worth doing, it would have been done already.
2. I shall never move quickly, except to avoid more work or find excuses.

I love deadlines. Especially the whooshing sound they make as they pass by.

Heaven -
Re your story about going to Hawaii and getting it done - I am like you at times - to see the "light" a swift kick in the rear by a friend/son/neighbor always gets me motivated.

Procastinators Anonymous - I thin one of their creeds is "why put off today what you can do next year?"

Aeromuse - I so identify with putting things off again and again as you said and getting the body moving and the brain on hold. Thanks for the reply!

why put off today what you can do next year?" Actually, my theory is that if you put it off long enough, you may not have to ever do it at all...but I wouldn't consider a trip to Hawaii with my firstborn in that category!!
Now I can look forward to it wholeheartedly!
