I don't call strangers after 9 PM. I call people I know almost any time, depending on what I know about their schedules, etc. One lady I talk to from time to time works 2-10, and gets home about 10:30, and has changed into her PJs and has her coffee ready by 11:00 to settle in for reading, watching movies or talking on the phone for 3 or 4 hours. My children and friends frequently call me around midnight, because they know I'm usually up and awake that time of day. But, as I said up front, I wouldn't call someone whom I knew nothing about after 9 PM. In fact, I'm reluctant to call after 8:00 at night.

If my phone rings then, my heart comes right up out of my throat! Me too Katt!   I just KNOW its going to be bad news!
One time I did it backwards. It was 9:00 AM, and I called a friend, not even thinking about the time difference.  It was 6:00 AM for her. (sorry Heaven) She was a good sport, and talked to me anyway. 
I don't ever call anyone after 9:00, unless I see them online!

I only call if I chatting with them online or something...never if I don't know if they are awake...unless it is an emergency...like I'm out of wine or Rum or something!! lol
If my phone rings after 10...unsolicited...someone had better be bleeding out!!!
I always think it's the hospital needing me to come to work!!!

Yes I have done it. I've called two people from this website after 10...Guerrero and Sadian I think....and IRL, I've called my friend Jeanine after 10. Generally, I don't do it though...I never know what time people are going to bed. I also dislike talking on the phone.

Heck Luv - unlike Nightowl, I'm Earlybird...it's 0620 here and I've been in the office for the past hour...8PM though, might find me semi-comatose on the couch.
I try to remember time differences, but like Luv I occasionally forget and call NY later than I think - that's still usually only about 9 though.
Speaking of phone calls - I'm sitting about 6 feet away from someone who's on the phone with a lady in Singapore, and I can actually hear what she's saying...and I have a headset on! No wonder he's usually shellshocked every time he talks to her!

I usually wont call anyone late unless I know they are up...like just got off line with them or what have you.. but seems my phone rings WHENEVERRRRRR  most times thats okay tho .. like Spring I can wake up talk and most times go back to sleep after... kinda like last night phone rang at 1:48 am but um it was okay
