No... this isn't about a Japanese musical ...it's a question about OKRA! I planted a bunch of okra plants about 8 weeks ago, and I'm about ready to start harvesting some of the okra, but it isn't going to be enough for a meal. My question is, how long will raw okra keep in the fridge?
...okay... just one chorus... "OOOOOOOOOOOO- KRAHOMA whele the lind come sleeping down da prain!"

Fried okra!
Do a search and you should be able to find how long it will keep.
And unless you have the spineless variety, wear gloves when you harvest it or you will be sorry.

Ohhhh my favorite, fried, stewed, mixed with stewed tomatoes.... Stormy, I grow it as well and never mind having enough for a meal, Mine never makes it to the table anyway, Donald eats it as soon as I get it out of the pan and a secret when frying it to make a bit less work.... cut it in half lengthwise..
wish I could answer your question... mine never makes it to the fridge
and for the pods you miss when picking and get too big to cook... let them dry out and paint for christmas decorations

Stormy if it's really fresh Okra then it stays good up to a couple of days in the fridge. It's best if used within a day or two. Beyond that it begins to lose its freshness, flavor, and nutrients.

Okra? No thank you. The only thing I know it is good for is to quicken soups and stews.
