It seems that matchdoctor has turned more into a blogging site than a dating site. I just did a search and found one man who has been online within the last month. The others were all over 1 month or over 3 months, so we must be driving away a lot of people for some reason. Any ideas why people are not staying with this site?

blogging is a form of getting to know the people on here to see if you truly are compatible with them by the way they express their views and humor, so yeah it still is a dating site, a dating site has more to do with just getting messages from people that read your pro, the forums wouldn't be on a dating site if they didn't play a role in how you meet the people on here that interest ya. or at least thats my view on it. I'm breaking all the rules for the dating site, am just on here to keep in touch with my sister and to meet a few new people to chat with when I am online.

If the blogs bother anyone, I'm sure they're allowed to skip them. Very few members blog or use the forums anyway despite the fact that they're a great way to get to know someone better. Choosing a date, mate, or friend just by computer search seems a rather cold and inefficient way to meet anyone. Kind of reminds me of "Male"-Order, lol. (This isn't just a dating site, btw..."A Community for Singles and Friends")
I just did a search and found hundreds of guys who've all been online in the last week! And check out new members: 35 pages of men just since June 25th. It doesn't look like anyone's being chased away according to the stats.

Moogie (Hi!  by the way), you probably need to expand your search parameters. When I use the search function for a female between 38 and 53 within 50 miles of where I live, I only get four profiles found, three of which were active over three months ago, and the other active within the last 2 months. Might try expanding the age range, or distance, or select fewer of some of the other limiting criteria and see if that helps.
And if you look at the top of this window (not the text box, but the towards the top of the screen) it shows that there are 789 people online on the site right now.

Thanks for the advice, but I don't think it will help. I am 62 and the number of men seem to drop with age. I have done searches mainly from 55 to 67 and the only requirement is that I don't want them to smoke. I don't care about size, religion, or anything else. One problem is that I live in a rural area with Pittsburgh being on the edge of my 50 mile range. If I contact anyone from there, they tell me I live too far away. Sure, they probably have 100 women to choose from in a city.
The mail I usually receive falls into 3 categories, with nice guys my age being the smallest. I get lots from young men, 20 to early 40s. I don't know if they think I can support them, they think I am desperate for sex, or want a mother (grandmother?) figure. The last category would be the ones that all sound the same. They live in the states (yeah, right!) but sound like they don't have English down well. They are usually looking for a good Christian lady and always give an email address. (Think Nigeria)
At my age, there are no places to meet anyone. I have church, a playhouse where I volunteer, used to volunteer with cub scouts and other groups, but haven't met a single guy with any of them that caused any sparks. My sons got me to try the internet, so that is my main way of meeting men. I figure at the least, I can have a lunch, either with a nice guy, or someone who is so weird they will be remembered long after most of the others.
But the reason I mentioned the blogs, is that on some other sites, I do a search and get a lot of active users show up. On here, it seems more of a meeting place to try out blogs and see what the response is. There seem to be groups who act like they know each other well, and I sometimes feel like I am intruding into a group that didn't ask me to join if I leave a response. I find myself going to the other dating sites more than this one.

Moogie just make your presence known. Get into the forums and start posting. Of course, you may end up like me and kill many threads once you post!  Sometimes seems like I post and that's it for the thread. No one posts after me. We'll see if it happens here, ok?
Really, just come into some threads that interest you and when you feel like it, leave a comment or 2. You never know what might happen.

I tried writing a couple of blogs, but I guess they were too serious. So many are just jokes they got in their email...copy, paste, and there is your blog! Sorry, I already saw that joke too many times, but sometimes I see a new one.

Yep, just belly up Moogie - if you're isolated you're gonna have problems finding dates anyway, but this is a great way to stay entertained, or at least occupied.
