I joined about 6 years ago, forgot about the site for 4 years, then came back and found the forums. I'm a newbie to the blogs though. I have dated 2 men from this site. Neither made it long term. But I keep hoping!

me too..I look at this as more of a friends site...since I seem to be the only one from my part of the world on here ..just as well  ...unless I want to date myself....shudder at the thought

Plain & Simple (?) -- it's a crap game.
Roll the dice and see what happens. Rarely does one "win" on the first roll or two. We pick and choose what to "keep" in our dice collection, what to throw back and reroll for a winning play.
There are no men in here from my area either. Even if there were -- and even when I lived in downtown L.A. where there were lots of men -- there were very few I was "interested in." It's a game I tell ya. Ya can't win if ya don't play. Ya probably won't win on the first few rolls.
However in MD -- you CAN be a winner if you choose to "accept" the "winning tickets" that are abundant. Hang around a bit and they will present themselves in the blogs and forums. Put on your boots though; you will also have to wade through some garbage.

Hi Ya Touch! Long time no see. I hear you and Em are still as happy as Duvvy and I.  Hope you two can get into the same geographical area soon. Won't be long till I get down to Duvvy!

Why yes it is still a "dating" site. So much so that in fact some of us are so busy "dating" those that we have discovered on here that we simply don't have the time to climb on here much any more. To busy climbing on those we have met here.
