yup, it has.

anytime a person's sensitivity is offended by my freedom of speech, something is wrong.

political corretness is where a minority can control the majority.

in some respects it was a necessary evil, We all tend to be herd animals, and anyone who is different is a target... whether it is tattoo's, religion, color, or nationalities...

I don't believe we should impede anyone's freedom of expression, but even here in Minneapolis we've had idiots burn crosses in people's yards, I can't see allowing that...

I don't know what the answer is, but too many folks can't behave like adults....

Political correctness is purely political and not correct in any form. Shouldn't we all be hyphenated Americans or just Americans?

I'm a hyphenated American. I'll always be a hyphenated American. And people need to get over it.

He just needs a treat. sweeten that boy right up.

In some ways we have come so far. It saddens me though that genuine politeness and respect is not as common as it once was. Maybe that was a lie too?
People still hold on to silly predjudices they just don't voice them~ but they are still there.
Humans are slow to change.

I'm 100% British... which means a mixture of Celtic Brit, Roman (Italian), Dutch, German, Scandinavian, French (Norman), Welsh, Scottish and Irish (in that chronological order) - before you even cross the Atlantic. We're the mongrels of the European continent... which is even more strange because we don't have a land connection lol. Must just have good ships and a very long libido.

British was the hyphenated "Anglo-Saxon" (actually Anglo-Celtic!!!) that Britain took over the Atlantic to America, where it met the rest of the world. Now THAT is a big hyphenation even if I offend myself tremendously...

No one in Europe was ever racially "pure" - not even Iceland, which according to DNA mapping is the most homogenous population in the West. The only mixture they had was with Irish slaves captured a millenium ago.

So I guess that makes them the least politically correct, too.

I guess we think too much about "race" and "origin" anyway... imagine what a job of extermination Hitler would have had just to return Europe to being "Nordic" or W.A.S.P.

Happy 4th of July to all you other "European" refuse over there :O) We needed to find SOMEWHERE to dump our overpopulation... But where do we go next time? Hmmm there's always British Columbia...

lol CPU, happy 4th to you too!

There is a major difference between common curtesy (sp?) and being pc. PC has been carried way too far, but life is a pendulum. Just wait, it will swing back eventually... jmho

I think it has gone to far. The other day,a friend of mine made a post on another site about Arabs. I used his exact statement but reversed Arabs with white Americans. He was banned for 5 days, I was not. Our statements we to prove a point about political correctness, not how we actually felt..

I find 'political correctness' to be nothing more than a small Band-Aid attempting to cover a gaping flesh wound with an arterial bleed.

The underlying problem remains, and that is a basic lack of respect and tolerance for those with whom we do not identify, who are perceived as being 'different' from ourselves in some manner (regardless of the nature of that 'difference').
