Imagine your life is a movie and the camera is fading in on you right at this moment.
What song would be playing that best reflects not necessarily only what is going on, but also reflects who you are. Meaning how you think, that in which you believe, etc.
I've got Cat Stevens in the car right now, and though it's been years since I first fell in love with his music, voice, and many of his songs, this time one stands out like a beacon:
Oh I can't keep it in, I can't keep it in, I've gotta let it out.
I've got to show the world, world's got to see,
See all the love, love that's in me.
I said, why walk alone?
Why worry when it's warm over here?
You've got so much to say, say what you mean,
Mean what you're thinking, and think anything.
Oh why, why must you waste you're life away?
You've got to live for today, then let it go.
Oh, lover, I want to spend this time with you,
There's nothing I wouldn't do if you let me know.
And I can't keep it in, I can't hide it and I can't lock it away.
I'm up for your love, love heats my blood,
Blood spins my head, and my head falls in love...oh!
No, I can't keep it in, I can't keep it in, I've gotta let it out.
I've gotta show the world, world's got to know,
Know of the love, love that lies low.
So why can't you say? If you know, then why can't you say?
You've got too much deceit, deceit kills the light,
Light needs to shine, I said shine light, shine light....
Love, that's no way to live your life,
You allow too much to go by, and that won't do.
No, lover. I want to have you here by my side,
Now don't you run, don't you hide while I'm with you.
'N I can't keep it in, I can't keep it in, I've gotta let it out.
I've got to show the world, world's got to see,
See all the love, love that's in me.
I said, why walk alone? Why worry when it's warm over here?
You've got so much to say, say what you mean,
Mean what you're thinking, and think anything.
Why not?
Now why, why, why not?

In Spite of ourselves, by John Prine... well wouldn't exactly call it my theme song, but really like what he has to say underneath the humour.
Actually I do have a theme song, my daughter wrote and recorded a song for me on my birthday last year that fits to a tee.
[Edited on 12/29/2005 12:52 AM]
Not that you'd know it but... "I'm coming home" is the title

I recently borrowed Cat Steven's Greatest Hits from the county library and copied it to my h/d and I love that song, in fact you just "made me" want to play it and I'm listening to it right now, he, he! I can't say I have a theme song though, but that's really a good one!

LatinButterfly, that is SO funny. I played it for my young niece just the other day and she thought it was great, too. Understood the attitude of which it speaks, and exactly why I love it so much.
Porsha, I am going to presume you meant that in only the nicest of ways so will just say, "Thanks!"

Something for Nothing. By RUSH. Although there are many songs that have pieces that I can identify with that is probably one that is universally true in every resepct.
The chorus
... You don't get something for nothing,
You can't have freedom for free...

NeverLand
I have a place where dreams are born,
And time is never planned.
It's not on any chart,
You must find it with your heart.
Never Never Land.
It might be miles beyond the moon,
Or right there where you stand.
Just keep an open mind,
And then suddenly you'll find
Never Never Land.
You'll have a treasure if you stay there,
More precious far than gold.
For once you have found your way there,
You can never, never grow old.
And that's my home where dreams are born,
And time is never planned.
Just think of lovely things.
And your heart will fly on wings,
Forever in Never Never Land.
You'll have a treasure if you stay there,
More precious far than gold.
For once you have found your way there,
You can never, never grow old.
And that's my home where dreams are born,
And time is never planned.
Just think of lovely things.
And your heart will fly on wings,
Forever in Never Never Land

I HOPE YOU DANCE
Artist: Lee Ann Womack Lyrics
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they're worth taking
Lovin' might be a mistake
But it's worth making
Don't let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
I hope you dance
(Where those years have gone)
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)

:-D I have two
I am he as you are he as you are he as you are me and we are all together
See how they run like pigs from a gun see how they fly
I'm crying
Sitting on a cornflake
Waiting for the van to come
Corporation teeshirt
Stupid bloody Tuesday
Man you been a naughty boy you let your face grow long
I am the eggman
They are the eggmen
I am the walrus, goo goo goo joob
Mr. City Policemen sitting pretty little policemen in a row
See how they fly like Lucy in the Sky see how they run
I'm crying
I'm crying
I'm crying
I'm crying
Yellow matter custard
Dripping from a dead dog's eye
Crabalocker fishwife
Pornographic priestess
Boy you been a naughty girl you let your knickers down
I am the eggman
They are the eggmen
I am the walrus, goo goo goo joob
Sitting in an English garden waiting for the sun
If the sun don't come you get your tan by standing in the English rain
I am the eggman
They are the eggmen
I am the walrus goo goo goo joob
Expert textpert joking smokers
Don't you think the joker laughs at you?
See how they smile like pigs in a sty see how they snide
I'm crying
Semolina pilchard
Climbing up the Eiffel Tower
Elementary penguin singing Hare Krishna
Man you shoulda seen them kicking Edgar Allen Poe
I am the eggman
They are the eggmen
I am the walrus goo goo goo joob
-The Beatles, I Am the Walrus (John Lennon)
I will not make the same mistakes that you did
I will not let myself
Cause my heart so much misery
I will not break the way you did,
You fell so hard,
I've learned the hard way
To never let it get that far
Because of you
I never stray too far from the sidewalk
Because of you
I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt
Because of you
I find it hard to trust not only me but everyone around me
Because of you
I am afraid
I lose my way
And it's not too long before you point it out
I cannot cry
Because I know that's weakness in your eyes
I'm forced to fake
A smile, a laugh every day of my life
My heart can't possibly break
When it wasn't even whole to start with
Because of you
I never stray too far from the sidewalk
Because of you
I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt
Because of you
I find it hard to trust, not only me, but everyone around me
Because of you
I am afraid
I watched you die
I heard you cry every night in your sleep
I was so young you should have known better than to lean on me
You never thought of anyone else you just saw your pain
And now I cry in the middle of the night
For the same damn thing
Because of you
I never stray too far from the sidewalk
Because of you
I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt
Because of you
I try my hardest just to forget everything
Because of you
I don't know how to let anyone else in
Because of you
I'm ashamed of my life because it's empty
Because of you
I am afraid
Because of you,
Because of you

EAGLES LYRICS
"Get Over It"
I turn on the tube and what do I see
A whole lotta people cryin' "Don't blame me"
They point their crooked little fingers ar everybody else
Spend all their time feelin' sorry for themselves
Victim of this, victim of that
Your momma's too thin; your daddy's too fat
Get over it
Get over it
All this whinin' and cryin' and pitchin' a fit
Get over it, get over it
You say you haven't been the same since you had your little crash
But you might feel better if I gave you some cash
The more I think about it, Old Billy was right
Let's kill all the lawyers, kill 'em tonight
You don't want to work, you want to live like a king
But the big, bad world doesn't owe you a thing
Get over it
Get over it
If you don't want to play, then you might as well split
Get over it, Get over it
It's like going to confession every time I hear you speak
You're makin' the most of your losin' streak
Some call it sick, but I call it weak
You drag it around like a ball and chain
You wallow in the guilt; you wallow in the pain
You wave it like a flag, you wear it like a crown
Got your mind in the gutter, bringin' everybody down
Complain about the present and blame it on the past
I'd like to find your inner child and kick its little ass
Get over it
Get over it
All this bitchin' and moanin' and pitchin' a fit
Get over it, get over it
Get over it
Get over it
It's gotta stop sometime, so why don't you quit
Get over it, get over it

Theme...hmmmm...I have sorta two I have always cranked on the car stereo with the top down...
Suite Judy Blue Eyes - Stephen Stills
It's getting to the point
Where I'm no fun anymore
I am sorry
Sometimes it hurts so badly
I must cry out loud
I am lonely
I am yours, you are mine
You are what you are
And you make it hard -
Remember what we've said and done and felt
about each other
Oh babe, have mercy
Don't let the past remind us of what we are not now
I am not dreaming.
I am yours, you are mine
You are what you are
And you make it hard-
Tearing yourself away from me now
You are free and I am crying
This does not mean I don't love you
I do, that's forever, yes and for always
I am yours, you are mine
You are what you are
And you make it hard-
Something inside is telling me that
I've got your secret. Are you still listening?
Fear is the lock, and laughter the key to your heart
And I love you.
I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are
And you make it hard-
And you make it hard-
Friday evening, Sunday in the afternoon
What have you got to lose?
Tuesday mornin', please be gone I'm tired of you.
What have you got to lose?
Can I tell it like it is? Help me I'm sufferin'
Listen to me baby-Help me I'm dyin'
It's my heart that's a sufferin', it's a dyin'
That's what I have to lose
I've got an answer
I'm going to fly away
What have I got to lose?
Will you come see me
Thursdays and Saturdays?
What have you got to lose?
Chestnut brown canary
Ruby throated sparrow
Sing a song don't be long
Thrill me to the marrow
Voices of the angels ring around the moonlight
Asking me, said she so free
How can you catch the sparrow?
Lacy, lilting, lady, losing love, lamenting
Change my life, make it right
Be my lady.
Doo doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo doo doo doo
At the end of the Suite, Stephen Stills sings the following Spanish lines:
Que linda me la traiga Cuba,
la reina de la Mar Caribe.
Cielo sol no tiene sangreahi,
y que triste que no puedo vaya,
Oh va, oh va, va.
Loosely translated that is:
How happy it makes me to think of Cuba,
the smiles of the Caribbean Sea,
Sunny sky has no blood, and how sad that
I'm not able to go
Oh go, oh go go
And then...Master of time and space...Dylan..
May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

Lyrics for Song: One Honest Heart
Times are tough on an honest heart.
People don't follow through with what they start.
Lyin' eyes looking at me up and down.
Makin' talk that's only cheap.
Makin' promises they never keep.
But I keep lookin' for what I still haven't found.
One honest heart.
That I can believe in.
Two lovin' arms that will never let me go.
One good man that I can count on.
It shouldn't be so hard.
Finding one honest heart.
Now I've been close a time or two.
I thought I saw my dreams comin' true.
But I was just livin' in a fairy tale.
I won't play the fool again.
I won't play a game that I can't win.
But I still have faith and I keep tellin' myself. There's...
One honest heart.
That I can believe in.
Two lovin' arms that will never let me go.
One good man that I can count on.
It shouldn't be so hard.
Finding one honest heart.
I don't think I'm asking too much.
Just once in my life I want to be touched by...
One honest heart.
That I can believe in.
Two lovin' arms that will never let me go.
One good man that I can count on.
It shouldn't be so hard.
Finding one honest heart.
One good man.
One honest heart.
That I can believe in.
Two lovin' arms that will never let me go.
One good man that I can count on.
It shouldn't be so hard.
Finding one honest heart.
One honest heart.
One honest heart.
That I can believe in.
Two lovin' arms that will never let me go.
One good man that I can count on.
It shouldn't be so hard.
Finding one honest heart.
One good man, one honest heart.

When I'm upset "Santa Monica" by Everclear. The refrain "and watch the world die" is how I feel sometimes.
In my drinking days "American Pie" by Don McLean. I used to have three beers to that song!
Now that I drink only water, I prefer "The Saga Begins" by Weird Al Yankovic
When I'm excited I like the Star Wars Main Theme by Jon Williams.
When I depressed and thinking of my dogs that my ex stole, I love "White Flag" by Dido. I love that song so much, I named my terrier after the singer.
When I get mad thinking of my ex, I listen to "Get a Job" by Offspring and "The Imperial March" by Jon Williams.
When I feel like life has passed me by, I listen to "A Pirate Looks at Forty" by Jimmy Buffet.
The rest of the time I listen to Debbie Gibson's Greatest Hits.!

DJ Tiƫsto - Just Be :)
Excuse any spelling mistakes.. Stole the lyrics from my friend's AIM profile.
You can travel the world
But you can't run away
From the person you are in your heart
You can be who you want to be
Make us believe in you
Keep all your light in the dark
You're searching for truth
You must look in the mirror
And make sense of what you can see
Just be
They say learning to love yourself
Is the first step
That you take what you want to be real
Flying on planes to exotic locations
Won't teach you
How you really feel
Face up to the fact
That you are who you are
And nothing can change that believe
Just be

Definitely this one. The art of communicating in silence is underrated.
Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence
Words of violence
Break the silence
Come crashing in
Into my little world
Painful to me
Pierce right through
Can't you understand
Oh, my little girl
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very
Unecessary
They can only do harm
Vows are spoken
To be broken
Feelings are intense
Words are trivial
Pleasures remain
So does the pain
Words are meaningless
And forgettable
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very
Unecessary
They can only do harm
Enjoy the silence

I'm A Country Boy
Lynyrd Skynyrd
New York City is a thousand miles away
And if you ask me, I'll tell you that's OK
Now I'm not trying to put the big apple down
'Cause they don't need a man like me in town
I pick cotton down on the Dixie line
Work hard all day tryin' to make a dime
But that's allright, that's OK by me
'Cause that's the way that it was meant to be
Big city, hard times don't bother me
I'm a country boy, I'm as happy as I can be
I don't like smoke chokin' up my air
And some of those city folks well they don't care
I don't like cars buzzing around
I don't even want a piece of concrete in my town
I like sunshine, fresh clean air
Makes me feel like you wouldn't care but
that's all right, each to his own
But one smell from the city
And this country boy is gone
Big city, hard times don't bother me
I'm a country boy, I'm as happy as I can be
Well, I don't want to even read about it
Let me tell you something, let me tell you true
What's right for me might not be right for you
Well, you live your way, I'll live mine
And I hope that your happy all the time
I pick cotton down on the Dixie line
Work hard all day tryin' to make a dime
But that's all right, that's OK by me
'Cause that's the way that it was supposed to be
Big city, hard times never bother me
I'm a country boy, I'm as happy as I can be
Let me tell ya, ... I said
Big city, hard times never bother me
I'm a country boy, I'm as happy as I can be
Ooh, that's my way, baby
I don't want you to even tell me about the big city
I don't want to read about it...
