What would you like and what is important to you, in a place you call home?
Have you found it were you live, or is it somewhere else were you would like to move too?
Here are is my qualifications in what I am looking for.
Environmentally conscious and green infrastructure, a reasonable amount of the area was set aside for county, state or national parks to insure a decent quality of life. Access for bicycles, hiking and recreation. Green with lots of trees, never liked the desert terrain.
Friendly people and low crime.
Clean air and resident access to clean well water.
Mountains local access, or not to far away.
Temperate climate range, not too cold and not too hot.
.
I’m thinking Washington/Oregon-ish

Oceans or big lakes.
Museums and parks.
Mountains with snow on top. ( for when I think I want to see snow)
A place where I can go to a store or any of the places above without traveling hours.
Oh and a place with lots of sports!!!

I’m thinking Washington/Oregon-ish That whole description fits Massachusetts as well. However, I'd like the education standards to be high. I couldn't live where intelligence is of low importance.

I've pretty much found it here, I'm a pretty happy camper!
LOTS of sun - I found out that I had SAD for years without realizing it; moving to the Valley of the Sun was like being reborn
LOTS of room - I also realized I was a bit claustrophobic
Variety - I live in the city but can walk the mile and a half to a horse farm. I can hike mountains, play golf, go to an opera or a baseball, football or hockey game.
Good roads, plenty of parks, lakes, hiking trails, mountains (I still love driving around here, looking at them)
Easy access to pools etc. (like rolling out my back door)
Plenty of dating opportunities (okay, not for over a year now, but I was going out on a couple of dates a week until I met Jim - easier to do with a highly populous area).
Friendly people - practically nobody was born here, which makes it a lot easier for a newcomer making friends
Lots of different 'micro-climates' not that far away - north to Flagstaff for snow, Sedona for spirituality, west to San Diego or south to Rocky Point for beaches.
I can deal with a few months of hot weather more easily than I dealt with being snowbound back east, not to mention that you don't need to shovel sunshine Oh, and my tomato plants are usually perennial here!

Oh, and BB - you have national health care with doctors that make HOUSE CALLS!
Unheard of here in the US for many years now...I was thinking about retiring to Malta, but AZ's really grown on me (or one Arizonan anyway - I'm spoiled!)

Gee, tough choice....If insurance wasn't so high I would love to live at the beach. People talk about the hurricanes and stuff, but heck.... just yesterday we had 2 tornado warnings and even the store where I work corralled everybody to the cooler at the back of the store(including customers) I had just left to go home.
. I love the ocean, the smell of it, the sound,,,, everything. I am at peace when ever I get the chance to go to the beach.
