Yes! Pop the earbuds in...turn on the MP3, loud, and it makes it much easier to exercise. Is it fun? Not sure that's the word I'd use, but makes me feel better when I do.

During cooler months, Phoenix has an amazing network of trails. We're in a valley with hills in the middle, all of which can be traversed without hitting surface streets - there are tunnels connecting them. I've done Lookout Mountain but there are plenty left - Piestowa, South, North for starters, and in Scottsdale we have Pinnacle Peak. Lots and lots of really interesting stuff, ancient Indian hieroglyphs, sand that's fused into glass by lightning strikes, all kinds of interesting rock formations.

That's more for October thru April or May though, when it's not 110 degrees out

I love walking/hiking through the woods or whatever for pleasure.
I enjoy walking for my health as well.
However, I have been suffering with a severe case of plantar faciitis since last fall & my walking has suffered. Hopefully soon, I will find a way to get it healed!

Miss--have you had any cortisone shots for it? That finally cleared it up for me.

During the summer I walk once a week, and do water aerobics 4 times a week. During the school year, I walk 3-4 times a week, at least 20 minutes at a time. But I do much better in the heat than in the cold. My joints really hurt when I walk when it's cooler.

i know of a park where they have steps in the side of the hill . at the bottom you are in a valley . at the top you are almost as high up as the tops of the trees . it is a lot of steps to get to the top ... also good is the walk around loop that takes an hour or so if you are in no rush .

Well, I'm not Sunbabe, but cruising around the Virgin Islands might qualify

Or exchanging jokes and gibes among friends does it too...and Sunny's a very punny lady!
