It looks like there has been a rash of fake profiles created, by a vocal minority, for the sole purpose of creating mistrust, gloom and disharmony.. 
and some of you are finding this humorous..and something to laugh about ..until .......you become the victim 
and then we have...
the players...
we have the "resident anal prober".. who tries to turn everything into a butt joke ..with the caveat of.. nothing is real..this is the internet..
we have the "attention starved post whore" who is not satisfied with the attention she gets from one profile..so she creates sock puppets to  and  her every word..
we have the "player" who creates fictitious female profiles, in the hope that other females will compete for his affections  ..based on the self love that he showers on himself..
we have the "resident know it all" who constantly attacks the poster, instead of the post..twists words around to change the meaning, disregarding the facts of the discussion and instead goes on tangents or finds fault with the source.
how many other scenarios can anyone come up with, to add to the list?
meanwhile...the point of this thread is.. that it seems that more and more "normal people" are not posting anymore..or ...are just leaving.
are you ok with this ? I am not.. to the point where...

I'm not going anywhere..I just wanted to post my dissatisfaction with the way the minority are abusing this site...
and a little sad that ... good people are gone.

I still have no idea what is going on. All I know is I have one profile because having two and having to keep up a charade would be too much work.
But yeah, I dunno. What's all this about?

I'm not sure I've spent enough time anywhere in the forums to notice who is gone (with the exception of Loreli)......but I have been around long enough to take issue with all the fakes. In more ways than one, it makes it more difficult for me to have fun here.

|And perhaps that Miss Liss stumbled upon the true problem.
The issues can only occur if you spend to much time in Forums.
When it goes from laffter to anger or personal issued, then perhaps the person has spent way to much time in forums. Live life threw the appled eye fantasy and you'll soon forget the sweet bites of reality.

ditto on not being around enough to notice.....and i'm not sure what it's all about....i get more trouble from folks who have had the same profile for years than those with more than one....not sure i care about this...

I have heard rumors of things 'hitting the fan' while Jim and I were away.
And I too have noticed many "newbies" that seem to understand the layout of this site in under 5 minutes (it took me MONTHS just to figure out where the thread was that I last posted in)
They can edit their comments, use the quote feature and even know many of us by nick names. And feel all too comfortable poking long time members in sore spots that the would have no way of knowing were there unless they had been here before.
Yes, I have noticed these behaviors of some lonely desperate people. That is the only way I can look at them. Sheer desperation. For love? Attention? Or just distention....I honestly don't know.
As for the personality quirks of long time members...hey...we've all got them. But that is just my view obviously.
Am I up in arms about this? No. I'm in a different place and considering leaving for different reasons all together. Have I been attacked by a "newbie" trying to create problems. Yes. More than once. But I feel secure in the knowledge that most people on this site know who and what I really am. Let them have at it. My skin is thicker than that.
The one thing I DON'T like it when legit newbies are attacked for posting their views or starting a new thread topic about their interests. I think THAT has more to do with fewer people in the forums than before than anything else. So...they are a virgin or have a foot fetish...why the hell do we need to judge them? Again, that is just my point of view.

First off... to the Metallica...
Now in my time here I have been attacked left and right. I've alway's only had the one profile. I've been here 2 years and have just recently started playing around in the forums.
...I've noticed other's jump right in and I tend to go by writing style.By writing style I mean they basically show who they are because their style of writing doesn't change from one profile to the next. I am sure that there are a few who were here before, that have come back to wreak havoc.Actually I am certain.
I suck at lying so I have no interest in trying to pretend to be someone else. I will back you up 100% though and say that there are a few who seem to know there way around here more than me and they've been here a week or 2.
...I just would like to be left alone, not harassed in writing by people I don't know, or have known on here who only seem to come back to pick at Fender.
I like MD, but I am getting fed up of all the crappola that comes and goes by the tractor full.

Apparently I don't spend enough time here because I don't know who we are talking about... I'm me, and about 30 some people met me in May so they know I'm who I say I am. If others want to play games, fine, just don't play them with me.

but pretty much the people on this site (or any site) are all the same.....
there are those much like myself who are what we are...naivety & all
and then there are those who use & abuse it....and those are the ones I try to avoid.
As an old chat friend used to always say...cyberspace is nothing but smoke & mirrors......and I might add....it's hard to find yourself around this crazy house.

It certainly can be, but that's only if you use it for that. If you take advantage of the anonymity of the internet and create a "persona" (which, yeah, a lot of people do, and I have personally experienced that) then yes it is smoke and mirrors but there are still real people behind the screen. It's not always "smoke and mirrors"
Tilly and I both know....net folks can be very real.

I concur with that statement, sign, but the problem is those that play the games like to make people like us the target quite often. Demented is one word I would use to describe them..asshole is another.
