Are ghosts real? I do ghost hunting and have seen some strange stuff. I have found many people have had a ghost encounter, they are just reluctant to tell it.
Just written a book called the Ghosts of Old Rochesterville. About ghost stories in Rochester, NY area.

There are no little ghost running around. People that believe this need help and will certainly let things of importance go by such as paying utility bills and making money if they run around chasing shadows.
If i took people that rapped on about ghost stories and put their rear end to work in a hot cotton field i assure you by night fall their little butts wouldn't care about ghosty stories and would head for cool shower and a meal and soft bed.

Yep, can understand ghost stories by folks in the snow belt... stuck inside freezing your buns will give you all kinds of halograms... Snowbelt also encourages drinking. So much of the ghosty stuff is probably alcoholic stuporisms.

Ghostbuster teaches..........
I don't believe in ghosts......but many years ago I read a book......I don't remember the author.....  anyway.....in this book he talked about microcosms who are around us
They should be our dear friends or relatives who passed away and now they live closed to us
I don't know if this is true or not 
I think that it is nice thinking that we are not alone and that someone could protect us and be near us...like silent angels

I'll own up to it---but don't ask for an explanation, because I don't have one. I grew up in a 100+ year old home, and we had a 'resident presence'---my parents attempted to downplay it to visitors who stayed the night; but many people sensed 'his' presence. It was benevolent, almost comforting.....I was never alone in that house.

Untrue!! . I am intelligent and hardworking...but...I believe that it is a possibility that ghosts do exist..simply because I think there are MANY things that happen that cannot be explained.
Just because someone believes in ghosts or other things outside the realm of what most consider "normal" doesn't mean they are irresponsible and chasing shadows

I love ghost stories. I have been to graveyards at night takling pictures to see what develops. Sorry to say, nothing was there. I wish I knew a good way to do it. I would probable piss on myself if something came up.
Browneyes, do you have any suggestions for me on how to ghost hunt?

I dont believe myself, but once something very odd happened to me. I was replacing a breaker box in a church basement. actually it was the lower basement of two. out of nowhere i felt what appeared to be a very warm mist of vapor pass thru me. it was a cold damp basement. I got a feeling that somebody was coming up behind me. I turned and shined my flash light to look. I felt as though just out of reach of the light there was somebody there. it was a bit spooky. I turn back around and continued working. a few seconds later felt as though somebody was right behind me. just as I turned again I felt a warm cloud like mist or vapor pass right thru me. I new for sure I had been blessed by somebody from above.
It was somebody above alright. my cousin was in the basement above me bleeding off a steamline.

I have a ghost cat. The first night I moved into my new mobile home, I was in the bedroom, alone or so I thought. I laid down on the bed, pulled up the covers, tried to get comfortable. Then I felt something at the foot of the bed turning around and around, and finally lying down. I thought one of the cats had accidentally gotten in the bedroom so turned on the light to see which cat is was. Surprise!! NO CAT! I turned the lights back off, laid back down and so did the "cat" after turning around twice again. I decided it must be one of my babies that had passed on before we moved letting me know that she came along with the rest of the family.
Funny thing is, I felt her on my bed both times after I had hip replacement surgeries too, She turned around and around, then sank down on the bed. I guess she was there to keep an eye on me. Rather comforting in a way.

Why are you asking us this question when it appears that you have some experience with them already? Is the so-called "strange stuff" unconfirmable ghost encouters? If so then you might be the top authority on this subject.
How does one know if they have encountered a ghost? What are the indicators? Since most of us don't ghost hunt for a living then I think it is important for us to know the facts about a possible encounter.

Something strange happened to me. I wonder if it was just a dream or did my X mother in law come see me in a dream the night of her funeral. I dreamed I was at the famaly gathering after the funeral and she was standing there in a pink dress, the kind from the sixties, in my dream, she was 28 years old, she was waving at me and I felt she was telling me that she is OK and she always considered me a part of her family, even though me and her son divorced.Of course I know it could have just been a dream, but I felt it was something more.
Another strange thing is when my father was in the hospital,This is not a ghost, but an angelic experience. I had a dream of a mans standing over my bed telling me I needed to get back to the hospital. A few minutes after I woke up, my sister called to tell me a "code blue" had been called on my father. I feel the man was an angelic spirit warning me my father was about to die, knowing I wanted to be there so he would not die alone.Again of course, this could have just been a dream, but still it felt like more than that. My father died the next mourning. I am happy to say that at the moment of his death, I was holding his hand and I said"Daddy, we love you".
