It's a New Years party and all of our forum friends are there. Everyone is in a fantastic mood. The music is playing and the holiday spirits are aplenty. It's almost midnight. Are you the social butterfly, the guy hanging out talking sports, the person on the dance floor, or do you have your eyes on the one you want to kiss at the stroke of twelve?
I've got a glass of champagne in one hand, and a deviled egg in the other. I'm just heading out to the dance floor, and in walks my tall, dark, and handsome.
Maybe I will get that midnight kiss after all...

Not sure what I'll be doing. I may go to my usual place and sit in a friends kitchen and shoot the breeze till 4 or 5 in the morning. Or I may be here, I havent decided. I am going to grannys for Chistmas on New years day.

well, I just screwed up my plans for NYE, so I have no clue what I'm gonna be doing tomorrow night, either staying at home or downing a few pints down the pub. ~shrugs~ who knows?

While sipping on my 5th glass of champagne, I feel my eyes pulled towards Lj's nekkid chest. I slowly rise to my feet, my eyes running all over his glorious body (damn, this chamagne is GOOD!) and sashay across the room to plaster myself against his side. I lift my glass to my full, red glossed lips and throw back the last swallow, tossing the glass aside! I look him in the eyes, grabbing his face between my hands...as the countdown winds down, my lips meet his. The last swallow of champagne is transfered between our mouths as I wish him a Happy 2006! The kiss lingers as my fingers twirl through his chest hair. I gently pull away and smile coyly as I return to my seat. Thank god I can blame it on the champagne!

Oh gee, ok mom.
I'm definitely out on the dance floor...they're playing a rumba and I'm having a ball, hoping for a tango and plenty of floor space to really go to town, lifts and all. I see Classy over by the bar breaking everybody up, and China flirting with a hottie over in the corner. I'm not gonna say who Spongey's with, but they obviously only have eyes for each other. Perhaps and Lecri are speaking Latin, of all things...some Ovid maybe? Silvertongue is being his usual enigmatic self, I don't see him, but I'll bet he's up to some mischief somewhere. Wow Di, you and LJ are really starting the new year right!

My man has seen me from across the room. We make eye contact. We all know that look well. All of my questions are answered in that one look, and I am beaming.
My man walks over to me, takes me by the hand, and pulls me outside. We are standing on a balcony, gazing at the lights below, and he tenderly draws me near. It's almost midnight, and my head is spinning from the champagne--or--could it be something else?

Di, i'm scared of u, girl! u have some talent; put it to good use! 
i have a glass of wine mix cos i will b face down on the sofa if i dont. i stand by the hors d'oeuvre for a fast second n crack a few jokes. no one knows i'm eyeing the room 4 the midnight kiss. i even brought mistletoe just n case (mistletoe is always good). 
everyone compliments me about head tie with the two yards wing span n kente cloth. yeah, perhaps is reciting latin poetry, n i'm turning into mush. when he breaks out into renaissance songs, we go outside on the veranda so there's no competition with the merriment inside.
gee, i need to get my journal out. great party, classy 
my head is spinning from the champagne--or--could it be something else?

oh, gentlemen, what WOULD u do if a young lady grabbed u @ the stroke of 12 and gave u a kiss that would curl ur ears? she's the epitome of what u would like -- no bothers about rotten teeth, b.o., etc. no problems with blushing since the lights would b out, too.
i remember stuttering once or twice when i was around a man i found totally captivating.

Now that my mystery man and I are no longer alone, L has reminded me I need to go attend to my guests. She has broken the spell, and since I am hostessing this party, I should go mingle. Def and LJ are draped over the couch, locked in a passionate embrace. Perhaps has had one too many and is cranking out songs at the top of his lungs, while sprawled across the grand piano.
Waiting and Pete are engaged in a heated debate. I manage to quiet Perhaps down and put on some more dancing music. Angel5, Torees, and Ready head out on the dance floor and begin a line dance. Spongecakes and his date don't seem to be aware anyone else is around...

I see her across the room. I must have her. I watch her for a bit and determine that she is single...and alone. I finally work up the courage to speak to her. Slowly, I approach her. As I'm standing there, gazing into the most incredible eyes I've ever seen, I open my mouth to speak. Just as I do, she raises extends her arm, palm toward me, and says "Talk to the hand!"
I tell her, "I'm TIRED of 'talking to the hand'!!!! That's why I came to this damn party in the first place!!!!!!"
That was as far as we got...so I proceeded to the apre  ...

I reach out a helping hand and help poor classy up after Lecri has tossed her back in the door. Just give 'em a minute I whisper and we'll drag 'em back inside. Besides Classy your the hostess and my glass is empty! You know what I like I tell you as I scan the room for hopefulls...

Jester, in his frustration, heads outside for a smoke. Fel, Summer, and Silver are already there, and they all begin their male bonding ritual.
I find my man visiting with Heaven, and pull him onto the dance floor. It's a slow song, and our bodies move in unison to the music...

Oh yes,
I forgot to mention the stumbling in the door part. I thanked Wanda and brushed myself off.
While on the dance floor, I remember I have forgotten Wanda's glass of rye. I excuse myself and head for the bar.
While enroute, I glance over to a far corner, and there is Tabbykins sucking J.D. straight from the bottle. He pulls out his bag of pot and I signal him to take it outside. He struggles to lift himself from the chair and staggers toward the door...
