The news today was talking about how our "Last Summer weekend", Labor day week end is the end of our summers here, Frost has already started just north of me, the days are markedly shorter,
it's a harsh time here, night time temps are dropping into the 40's for now, in 60 days we won't see that for the dailly high...
so we get ready for the short fall, and long winter of the north....

I'd trade Indiana winters for southern humidity any day.

them 'cold states' suck! who wants winter/fall 10 months out of the year? Give me warmth, and low heating bills! I do love mountains and wilderness, but hate shoveling snow.

The shadows are falling in the way of fall here, though I haven't smelled it in the air yet. I am relieved to be almost out of the humid days. Cool nights the last few, super for sleep!

Ah, another country heard from - the Valley of the Sun!
Our lows are still in the 80's, but low 80's now. One of the guys joked about it today, saying pool season's nearly over - yeah, right. We still have a couple of months left for wimps like me, who like the water temp in the 80s and 90's. It's year round for hardier souls like my foster son - he used to swim on Christmas and New Years when he was living here.
EP - we have some neat mountain views here too, about a two hour drive from here, but Snappy's right - Hawaii is paradise - lows in the 70's and highs in the 80's year round. There are people living as beach bums - the state parks have really nice grills, and 'rest rooms' (porta potties) are provided, along with covered picnic tables and you're right on the water. I saw lolts of them - they'd pitch little tents and hang hammocks between a couple of palm trees. Not too shabby a life - people will always help out with food...sigh...it was beyond description - spiritual and sensual, tranquil and exciting, lush, but it's only a couple of feet down to the bare volcanic rock that forms the 'bones' of the islands.

Our city pool will have its last day on Monday, Labor Day, then be closed down until next spring. But we will still have warm weather until Dec. or Jan., with a few cool fronts thrown in once in a while! But I miss summer mainly because now I'm back at school with another herd of rowdy 2nd graders to try to tame down so we actually learn something!

Summers almost over? Who said? I do love the fall when the leaves turn, and the birds migrate. Then I loved the spring when I could just barely see that tint of green in the woods, and smell the ground thawing. Other than that, I think I live in the best area. Highs in the low 80's and lows in the high 60's to maybe lower 50's right now.
Winter? We still have flowers blooming and we will go walk on the ocean beach on Christmas eve.
I can see the mountains, plus the snow on top. I can see the ocean too.

We've had rain almost daily this summer. Which is going to make the fall brilliant. The trees that are old or in the swamps are already beginning to change. It's my favorite! That said, there's no way to escape turning the heat on by October 1st. Still might have Indian summer after that. And will definitely have warm days. High 60's and low 70's... I love all the seasons. I just wish there was more warm in the mix.

We're pretty spoiled here on the Western Slope of the CO Rockies. Prefect weather for my liking. We get all the seasons, mild winters generally, generally a long spring and fall. Summer heat only lasts about 6 weeks without the humidity (for the most part).
So our long autumn (my favorite season) is getting ready to show itself. Our temps are still in the 90s and lows in the 70s. We're expecting rain Sun & Mon which will bring the temps down to mid 80s. Sept & Oct are good months for my rose bushes!
Peach season here & we're making homemade peach ice cream tomorrow

Living in the south, all my life, different places..You get use to the humid weather. The change of seasons are nice. This summer was mild, compared to last year.
Over 100f everyday for a full month heat index as high as 115..now that was misery !
Toward the end of Sept..It usually has its first cool spell..Fall is nice !!!
It is whatever we get use too
