This year has been an emotional growth one for me. I finally decided to let my family home in FL go instead of keeping it with all the sweet memories of my late parents and sister.......huge step for me, for somehow I felt "comforted" whenever I would spend time there. It took me 2 1/2 years to get to this decision though. Everything is now moved out and up here with me in NC, and the front door key is in the hands of a relator. If it sells, I can close by FAX machine and won't have to go back. I didn't even want to date while living in FL because I was afraid if a serious relationship would start then there would be hurt feelings if and when I decided I wanted to return to NC.
I guess maybe I've finally grown up at age 61....maybe.

In the last 12 months I too have accomlished much.
Like Becky, I allowed myself to be open to love... 
Took a HUGE chance on a LDR, and boy was it worth it!
Finally decorated for Christmas, with Duvvy's help and encouragement! (hadn't done it for 2 years)
Flew on a plane for the 1st time all by myself! 
Got my son through High School, and out on his own!
Sorted through my stuff and sold $250.00 worth at 2 yard sales. (donated what didn't sell)
Moved 1,000 miles to be with the one I love... (with Tamak's help)
Can't even begin to list all I/we have accomplished since I have been in Florida.  Tamak, Duvvy and I have made some HUGE improvments on this place. (Whoever is smart enough to latch onto that woman will be amazed at what a wonderful person she is)

maybe after the first of the year, i will be able to get back on here- gold member and all!!!!!!!!!!! i will be retired then and will have lots of time on my hands- until then, i am as always, the one and only WICCKED, formerly known as the gif whore- i am sure I have been dethroned at this point!!!!!

The greatest challenge I accepted recently has to be taking a job working for someone else... it was my own way of letting go. It was difficult, but so far ok, to make a comittment to stay in one place and be accessible.

I was thinking about the "Letting Go & Letting God" vs the "do nothing syndrom" which is easy to fall into. I think when I view the "letting go" part as "shutting up & listening" it helps. All too often I get busy telling God what I need and want. I find that when I just shut up & listen (as in meditation) I allow myself to be guided in the direction He has planned which is always the better way. Imagine that -- God's vision far surpassing mine.

Pat thank you. I to needed to hear this. I'm working on my 2nd week of homework and when I get it in my head I'm going to blog and put in the forums as I did this to. This book really helps one to open up and be.
