My sister just recently paid a ton of $$ for sod for her backyard and in the past week the edges have been rolled back first starting at the perimeter and then into the middles sections... we THINK it might be raccoons any suggestions?? I told her to get those granules to repel pests they are 100% organic but still any ideas?? this sod cost her thousands and shes just going nuts about this .. I saw pictures and OMG I JUST mowed that lawn the other day and now its looks like a battlefield

Good luck! I'm trying to come up with a fool proof idea to remove raccoons from under the floor in my house. Those cute lil critters are really destructive!
Edited to add: Do you have armadillos there, Becky? They're the ones who dig all over my yard.

Electric fence, or maybe a dog that has a chip on his shoulder against raccoons

Check for grubs, Becks...or other critters that bigger critters might be dining on. There are potions to eliminate that problem at the garden centers...not sure how "organic" they are, though.
And just in case, maybe set out big pans of water. The "just in case" being that maybe there are pockets of water under the sod that critters are trying to get to.
I'd suggest to have the kids go out and pee all over the sod, but I have a feeling that that might do more harm than good in the end.

Haban said yes, it is Racoons. They are rolling it back to get to the bugs.
A dog would help.

Was it put down.... green side up? Just messing wif ya......
Actually, I really am sorry that your sister is having this major problem. You all went to a lot of work just to have something like this happen. It sounds as if the racoons are the problem since you said the sod is being "rolled", it would have to be something large and clever enough to do that. Just like a racoon would be.

Live traps may come in handy. The farm stores have them, use something only the coons would like, I used an ( almost ) empty peanutbuter jar, and a baked potato. Most dogs and cats won't bother with that.
Once caught, just cover with a tarp and do what they wish with them....

becky, everything I have read says that while you can buy the stuff that says it gets rid of them, they usually don't work. Plus, the live traps? You and I know what those animals can be like if cornered.
The only reason for a dog is to scare them away. Even a good coon dog is not suppose to actually catch one or attack.
If I was her, I would call a wild life place and ask what they would do. If there is no children, a small electric fence works I guess. One of the items I found to use I couldn't believe they sell. Coyote urine. Whoo,,,,just what she needs, coyotes looking for a mate or wanting to fight!!! In case some of you don't know there is a problem here in California where Coyotes are coming into the city and have been caught trying to carry small children off.

Baby diapers with a full load keeps coons out of the sweetcorn,so it might work on your lawn. You could also put an old radio turned on out there too.

Since everyon is giving Becky advice, how about helping me figure out how to get the racoon clan out of their home under my floorboards?

Somehow I'd like to move them all down by the river but I need to get my live trap back. A friend borrowed it over a year ago. So far the raccoons have NOT come through the floor vents but I think it's just a matter of time. Why me??? Raccoons, mice, scorpions, ghekoes, and giant roaches. I don't like all those critters and want them all out of my house! Now Now Now!!!!
