Hurricane Ike is heading toward the Texas coast. Not sure exactly where he will make landfall. The prediction seems to change daily. He's a category 2 now but is predicted to make a 3 for sure and maybe a category 4 before landfall. If Ike hits near Corpus Christi, it will even affect us up near the San Antonio area. Our principal let the staff leave a half hour early today to get to the grocery store and stock up on supplies. We will definitely get rain and some wind but it depends where Ike comes in as to how bad it will be up here also. We may get out of school on Friday but it may be due more to traffic as people are evacuating from the coast than due to the weather. The bad weather won't hit us up here until Saturday afternoon/Sunday morning.
But the people down on the coast are really in for it. So please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Right now Lori it looks like we'll be on the weaker side of the storm as it moves through the state. But that could change. I hope not. I really don't want to find out if my mobile home can withstand winds of 100 mph!

Sign, please don't stay in your house when Ike comes through. Find a safer place. I was once in my mom's single wide in a storm that had 60 mile an hour winds, and I was terrified! I had no idea how bad the storm was going to be, you know whats coming, grab what you can and RUN!!!

the weatherchannel is also.
They are in Houston and Galveston reporting. They have bussed many out, evacuated 8 zip codes in Houston area.
But these dumb PEOPLE, walking on the sea wall with the waves crashing over and water on the road....
