Okay.... I'm certain we all have them..... FEARS
I try NOT to have fears and do pretty well, but Halloween made me think of... Things that go bump in the night as a thread.
So what might one of your fears be & how do you handle it?
Having raised my two daughters on my own once the ex decided he'd rather not work than pay child support.... $$$$$ was always a "fear". I prayed a lot & worked hard. God took care of us & we made it through some tough times.
Now? I worry about being a burden on my kids. That would hurt me more than anything. So..... I again/still I pray. (Focusing on the positive & visualizing the same.)

I've got horrible arachnophobia. I can't be in the same room as a spider, even if it's a tiny one. There's always the fear that it will end up on me or escape into my room and end up crawling on me while I'm sleeping.
I am scared of evergreen trees. I don't really know why. I have been frightened of them since I was a child. It's the worst when they are blowing in the wind or when they're covered with snow. I think they look very evil and the way they droop is just menacing.
I am terrified of the thought of ever not being able to breathe. Suffocating, choking, asphyxiation, etc....they are all terrifying concepts to me.
I am desperately afraid of abandonment. I have the worst abandonment issues out of everyone I know.

I fear bees (I'm allergic) I fear spiders and snakes. I once dumped a whole bottle of bleach on a snake, and I think there is a family of albino snakes working their way across town to find me!

LGQ -- You're not alone with your abandonment issues. I know my daughters would never abandon me, but.... sometimes our kids need to move away.
Oh.... and June bugs..... eeeeeeee...... yikes & ick...... those things actually DIVE at you (or ME anyway)
Brown Recluse Spiders -- I was once bitten -- very scary!

Spiders used to bother me, until I had a pet tarantula. They startle me, but they don't scare me. I grew up with pet snakes, and I also had rats, mice, and gerbils, so rodents don't scare me. I'm not afraid of bats, either. I think they're awesome little creatures!
I'm not afraid of heights...but I'm afraid of edges, if that makes sense. I can stand on a cliff and admire the view, but step too close to the edge and I'll have a full-blown freak out.
My greatest fear, hands down....
Clowns.
They terrify me. *shudders*
And dolls! Like ventriloquist dummies, or anything with a certain look...I can't describe it...but I once took a baseball bat to a doll that somebody handed down to my daughter.

I fear a lotta things, but the number one, for the last few years, I fear falling objects. I've had a couple close calls, too. A monster icicle almost got me two years ago. Lightening is always striking close to me as well...my mother was actually stricken by lightening. Could that be an inherited thing?
The thing that I fear in the night, though, is the ringing phone, in very late hours it's almost always gonna be bad news.
Happy Halloween, all.
And may God bless Mrs. Bacon.

oh yeah ! The phone in the middle of the night !
EF - I'm afraid of edges, too. My kids will go close to the edge up in the mountains. I just about die! Or stand to close on bridges over damns & such.
I distinctly remember being afraid of street drains and having to step over them as a child. I was really little (forever) and was certain I would lose my footing and slide right down the drain. Yuk!!!
