My 1983 Nissan has been at the body shop for OVER THREE MONTHS, and the guy STILL hasn't touched it. Anyhoo.... I went over there this afternoon to bleed the back driver side brake(With a pump vacuum bleeder), which had never been done; I had to take that brake line off when I replaced the control arm. When I tried to loosen the bleeder screw, the damned thing sheared off! Am I completely screwed, or is there an alternative method for bleeding the brake(s)?

Can you get one of those screw extractor drill bits? If you can get it out, you can replace it.

get an "e-z out" and a t handle wrench....they come in different sizes so read the package and have an idea of what size the bleeder hole is....wd 40 might help loosening the threads...good luck

I don't know the model of your Nissan, but if you search, a wheel cylinder is about 10-20 dollars to replace...

I know I have a couple of screw extractors, but I want one of those Grabit sets! (forget the free bonus "cordless drill hook" -- those hangy things always pull my doggone pants down )
wd 40 might help loosening the threads Liquid Wrench works better...
And yeh, what Katt (and Daisy) said...THREE MONTHS? You're rather...extra-patient, hon.
Good luck...truly.

I'm going to have to order that Grab-it drill bit, cheap, soft screw heads that hollow out are my biggest frustration when working on a project. Thanks so much for the tip, lj!

Well... I've known this guy for a while, he's worked on my cars before, and he's always been reliable and done good work... that is until now. I went back over there Monday to put the cover back over the car, and he lied to me again... the car is stilll sitting out there. A friend of mine is getting his Cobra restored, and it sat for almost a YEAR at his body shop guys lot before he even began to work on it. I'm not so sure that patience is a virtue anymore.

Rent a tow bar and take it home push it, pull it....whatever you have to do. And turn him in to the Attorney General's office. Don't take that crap!
