Since I last posted here, I have sunk into the worst depression I have ever had. I actually started taking Paxil, which is why I'm posting. I've been taking it for five days, and I seem to be having a bad reaction to it, in addition to the side effects. I called my best friend(Who is a doctor, but isn't the one who put me on Paxil), and he hasn't called me back. I'm not sure why I posted this.... this all started when I realised that I have completely ruined my life. I was determined to do things my way, and it just didn't work.

Call YOUR doctor.
Paxil isn't right for everyone - often times finding the correct med to treat depression is an exersize in trial and error. Most times actually.
Again - call your doc.
And don't lose heart - just keep tryin'....

Muse with her nurse hat on gave you the best advice.
There are so many different drugs to try...and it's the only way to find "the one"....TRY. Especially if you are having a bad reaction, it is imperative you call your prescribing doctor ASAP. And since you are reaching out to us, please reach out to him/her. You CAN find your way out of this.

I would go to your hospital's outpatients services right away...I would also call your Dr. Keep your chin up, it's most likely just a really bad reaction to the medication.

I was also told it can take 2 weeks to have your body adjust. This is true, but since his depression symptoms are worsening it still warrants looking into ASAP
You can make it through storm. And you will

Get off the damn puter and get some help. If you feel like you can't don't want to make it - call a hotline but for goodness sakes............. call or run to the closest ER. Nothing can be so bad that it's worth the pain someone leaves behind when they take the easy way out. I'm sure you have plenty of folks that feel you are worth the effort - just look at the responses here. I don't even know you and I know you are worth the effort. Stick around and begin again tomorrow but get some help........... TODAY

You should seek assistance ASAP. Paxil can be very helpful, but it isn't right for everyone. And it does take time before you see whatever positive effects it can have. It also sounds like there are other issues at work here. You need to talk one-on-one with someone SOON. Only so much help we can give you here. Good luck and know we are pulling for you!

this all started when I realised that I have completely ruined my life. I was determined to do things my way, and it just didn't work. Stormy .. stop.. and think for a few... and listen to the good folks here.. get tot he docs hon and realize just knowing that you are having problems and wanting help means you KNOW your life isnt ruined its just a bit confused right now.. one can always change their life.. it might take swallowing your pride and admitting that um yeah ya was wrong but in the end its still can be changed so nothing is a total loss hon.. and certainly not a life.. big huggs and look for the positive in every little thing.. like the fact that so many people who you have never met care what happens to you...

Seek help by a doctor, Your doctor! Other professional help also, like a theropist, councelor, psychatrist? Speaking from my own personal experience, don't wait!! It's only going to get worse! Maybe ask for something also if you're experiencing anxiety also. Good luck stormy...and we do miss you in the forums hon

Call your doctor.....now!
That's what you pay him/her for.
I think any one of us nurses on here would be willing to talk about what you are calling bad side effects. Email on of us after you call the doctor.

HELLO , I JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT IF THE DR. ( YOUR BEST FRIEND ) doesnt call u back Get out of your house and find another dr who can help you as soon as possible. Think possitive, you ll be fine. But u must do something for your self and get some energies. Remember this. Problems of depression are like little animals, if you keep feeding them, they ll grow up and they ll eat you. YOU CANT PERMIT THAT. You are strong, you are smart , you are important for your family and friend who love you and U CAN DO IT. But if u get some energy back, find a doctor and do something that put a smile on your face each day of your life, All your problems will die. PROBLEMS ARE MILLIONS, BUT LIFE IS ONLY ONE.
YOU GOT A LIFE, YOU MUST LIVE IT
