often times online, we see people who are proclaiming their intelligence (yet often misspell it), that they are looking for someone intelligent (just another to add to the list of cliches), or as simple as paying someone the compliment, labeling them as INTELLIGENT.
But what does intelligence include? how would YOU define intelligence?? What does it look like??

for me it is not about book smarts... Life experiences, being able to think for yourself, learn from mistakes, go forward even when everybody else says why.. shit like that

A good memory is needed , but the main thing is when you come across a problem you haven't seen or heard of before & you can work out the solution.

Intelligence is a lot of things - but least of all (but not to exclude IQ)
A big factor as to how I rate ones intelligence is the ability to not repeat mistakes previously made.

I also think it can mean a lot of things.
I've heard it defined as the ability to reason. I'd say that captures a good portion of what it is.
I wrote this about it in my profile on another site...
There are so many forms of intelligence that I appreciate, and many of the most precious have nothing to do with formal education or even an articulate vocabulary. I’ve never met anyone I haven’t learned something from. Clever banter is fun sometimes, but please don't consciously try to impress me with your intellectual prowess. Just be yourself. I’ll find the wisdom.
And one of my favorite sayings about it:

(Not certain of the origination... but sounds like Plato.)
...Regardless, intelligence is the ability to learn, whereas intellect is derived from experiences. Most live with intellect, which allows yesterday to be repeated again tomorrow and only intelligence can change this otherwise, perpetual occurrence.
