I was informed today, that my co-worker and friend's son had died over the weekend.
He was 21 years old, and the cause of death has yet to be determined. My friend and her family are devastated... and the actions of the Sheriff's deputy at the scene did not help matters. As the police and the coroner were their for the investigation, they were laughing and making jokes about the dead young man, in the presence of his brother and his girlfriend. When the young man complained about their behavior, he was told by the deputy that he, the girlfriend and another male friend who was in the house were being investigated for conspiracy to commit murder. This was ludicrous, and the Detective that was on the scene spoke to my friend today and said that was not the case, and where did she and her family get that idea.
While all of this is distressing enough... the family has no idea how they will possibly pay for a funeral. I know that prayer is a great confort, and I am asking those here who are willing to keep her and her family in their prayers.

Thank you Lor.. I could not believe when my boss called me to make sure I knew about it. I didn't as my friend was trying to save me from being upset while my male friend is visiting.

Thank you all so much.. it was such a shock, and my friend just doesn't know what to do at this point.. I'm just gonna be there for her, for any help she and the family need..

Oh Katie, how awful. I know how it is to loose a loved one so unexpectedly, and near the Holidays. I also can relate to not knowing how to pay for a funeral. I am still paying for my late husbands 3 years later. Hopefully the family can find an understanding funeral home that will allow them to make payments like I do.

I hadn't thought of that, Luv, but I will suggest it to her. She said she was going to going to some funeral homes today.
I am going to go by later today to see her and her family, and will pass on all your prayers.. and I cannot thank everyone enough..

Katie, my heart goes out to your friends. I have a 21 year old son, and can't imagine how I would feel if something happened to him. Postive thoughts and hugs to your friends. May they find comfort and strength through this most difficult time.
