Or just "wonder" about them, or read?
(we have a restaurant here that seats people where space opens. Your whole party has to be included, but you could share a huge booth with 4 strangers...)

It sort of depends on my mood. Very often though, I do. I travel a good bit in my work & have met some very interesting people along the way.

Yep, especially in any kind of line. I will in restaurants if I'm eating with someone already but if there alone, I keep quiet.

Yes, I do. Anywhere and everywhere with anyone. I dont even notice that Im doing it, but I have other people remark about it frequently. One that comes to mind is when my mom and I were getting on a super-crowded subway car in London (Im talking packed to the door with people standing....we had to step in the car and were basically face to face with dozens of people), I made some witty comment about the situation and everyone within ear shot started laughing.
Things Ive learned.....
Never judge a book by its cover.
You have more in common with people than you think.
Ive never met a stranger.

Thanks for asking K....broke the radial bone, got some good meds!
I sat in the doctor's office looking at people and saying um, that one is a farmer, that one a well-enough-off married mom, that one's on disability, that one smokes too much...etc.
Kept me occupied.
That and Marcus Welby on tv

Sure, I'll talk to just about anyone, whether they're alone, or I'm alone, or not, makes no difference to me. While waiting at a restaurant, we waited for our food for over 2 hours. I got to know quite a few folks, including the manager and the owner.

It seems I attract strangers to start up conversations.
There's this lady where I often buy gas....rarely do I go inside, but she has actually stepped outside the door & yapped away to me....just like she knew me! Not long ago, I was in a clothing store trying some stuff on...the clerk there started yapping. I finally got away from her. When Mom & I left there....we went next door to grab a bite to eat....here comes the lady from the fitting room & she starts gabbing away again!
I really don't mind it though.....I can be chatty myself. And often, I'll say stuff just lighten up a situation. So goes life.........
