I had dinner with my favorite cousin tonight. We got onto the subject of his kids and why he had them. He has a teenage son and daughter.
He said the only reason he agreed to have them was so he would have someone to give him organ transplants later in life if he needs them.
If he needed a heart transplant, for example, he said he’d say to his son “You know, you’ve been a good son, but sorry ...”
I laughed so hard that I had tears in my eyes.
I guess it beats “because the condom broke.”

I love kids, too, and regret never being able to have any of my own. Guess that's why I went into teaching.

I always wanted kids, but I also wanted a stable good relationship,
what we want, sometimes we just aren't going to get...
these days with my health problems, and short term left, I wouldn't start anything I couldn't finish

Yes, I want kids. Three of them. And one will be named Lennon. Not John with the middle name of Lennon, but just Lennon. And if things go right, supposedly his middle name has to be Tapani.
I love children, and I want to be a mother. I want to be a hockey mom XD

My best friend and I (in the 4th grade) decided we would arrange marriages for our children...to each other, of course. Even back then we knew the powerhouse genetic combintaion that could be achieved with both of our genes!
At this point in time it's not looking like either of us will actually have children. I'm pretty much at peace with that! I've considered fostering (after I've finished school) because I think I have a "few" good things to give to a child. Time will tell!

You had children back in the fourth grade?! WOW! Whats your number?
Why Did You (or do you want to) Have Kids? 1)I wanted to break the cycle of abuse. Almost there, I think Ill have it completely licked with my next child. 2) The tax credit. 3) Use of the car pool lane. 4) To meet the hotty teachers. 5) I lost my remote control. Change the chanel boy. Up , up, keep going, wait, go back one. 6) She wanted a dish washer. 7) Well I would look silly tricker treating at my age alone. 8) You can't do the baby sitter without a baby to sit. 9) They attracted the honeys better then a dog. 10) The free entertainment at someone else expense.

To leave the world a better place for them having been in it. Just like my parents did. Never have more than you can raise and educate and always always take parenting as a life long committment.

I've always loved children, started babysitting at 11. When I married a man I loved, it just seemed natural to raise a family together.
I do think that a couple should wait awhile, enjoy each other, travel-first. Children take time by both parents.

Although I'm not a father, I have been told from the kids I have been around, I would make a great dad. And as wonderful as that is, I have an adult lifetime of mostly empty birthdays, and I do not even participate in Christmas any more.
When I see parents that see their kids as a burden, or simply ignore them, write them out of their lives ect... it makes me long for their love, maybe it is just because they take the love of their child for granted.
You can work 24/7 make more money than you can spend, but at the end of your life, if you get a headstone, I would want it to say more than a " dedicated worker. "
I mean I guess you can go into the sister/brother son/daughter thing.
But I still think being thought of as a beloved husband and father would be more than anything.
I think back at my parents, and the life they set forth for me. when I think about my life, I wished I had children of my own, I can't help but think it would have been much more fulfilling.
I've shared the lives of the children of past relationships, and of the kids of my friends, but it's their parents they love the most, as it should be.
I can't think of anything that would melt my heart more than hearing the word " daddy " whispered into my ear.
The love of a great pet is close, but it is never the same. Maybe that is because a pet depends on you for it's whole life, and a child needs you to prepare it for the rest of the world, so they can do the same.

I am perfectly content with my life just the way it is with one child. Having said that, there are those rare men that make you want to procreate.
I don't know if it's just a woman thing or what...but every once in a blue moon I look at a man and I can almost picture what the combination of our efforts would produce. It's a heady thing lusting for a man like that. Whooooo.

I wanted (and got) one child who I'm teaching the joy of "crop dusting" up and down the isles of our local Target store. Children are precious, like that.
