I have been reading many of the threads here on MD for some time now. I feel it is time I had a say in one of the threads now too.
I have noticed in many instances, when Canadian's speak, the Americans jump right on us. I am not saying, all of you, I am saying in many instances. I can almost feel the heat and hear the crackling of your hatred towards us. Why is that?
Right out of the blue, for no apparent reason, you jump onto this thread, teeth baring, and you start nashing away; attacking from the rear. Is this behaviiour really necessary? Is this what being an adult is all about? What is it that has caused you to be so adament about your negativity towards us, as a people, and as a country? We are all humans. We are all just the little people who are governed by the Leaders we ourselves have chosen. We don't always agree with the choices our Leaders make, however, we have to live with it. Why should we punish each other verbally because of our differences? We are different countries. Of course we will be different!
Each and everyone of us are free to think and say what we please.. Yet, is it necessary to blurt out your negative views for the whole world to see, only to make yourselves appear angry, bitter, predjudice, etc. I admit, Candians will do the same. If we are attacked verbally, then, certainly, we will stand up for our Country and ourselves. Make no mistake about that!
We are neighbouring countries. Do you treat your own neighbours as such? Are you out there being nasty and rude to them because you do not like the make of their car, the breed of their dog, the colour of their house, their difference in the choice of their religion?
Shania Twain, Brian Adams, etc. are only a headful of entertainers from Canada.. So??? I enjoy "some" of Shania's music; I enjoy "some" of Bryan Adams music. I have seen them both perform live on stage. They put on an incredible performance. However, I neither love them nor hate them. I appreciate them for who they are...entertainers. I enjoy them as much as any American entertainers I have had the priviledge of seeing perform on stage.
I do not understand all this fighting and bitterness going on here. All this anger and resentment towards each other.
As the Moderater pointed out, everyone is welcome to voice their own opinions and views wherever they wish on these threads. Yet, why make a point of coming on a thread like this specifically to badger Canadians. As well, agreeing with the Moderator, if you do not like the comments from a poster (and this goes both ways), ignore them. Do not feed each other's angry egos by arguing or commenting. Simply, move along and comment to a poster whom you do enjoy quoting, bantering with, commenting to, etc. Do not give "negatives"the benefit of the doubt by succumbing to their level.
In one of the above posts, it was mentioned we Canadians tend to take things in our stride, are able to laugh at ourselves and not always be so serious. Perhaps we could teach some of you, our American friends, to do the same. Life is too short to live it out in anger and bitterness towards one another. If you wish to vent your anger, do so if it will make you feel better. We can handle it. We want you to feel good about yourselves, as we do about ourselves. If being angry and bitterly demonstrative does it for you, go for it!
Personally, I have a fondness for Americans. I have always found them to be quite friendly.. However, they are known to be very boisterous.. Sorry, only repeating what I have heard. All the same, I do like you all. Even the snarly ones. Inside all of us there is a heart. It is just buried a little deeper in some and harder to find.
Thanks to the kind Americans who have posted thus far, and, thanks to the ones who were not so kind. All views are welcome. It is nice to know where we stand with you. You can be sure, you will never get an unkind word from me. It saddens me to see all the anger flying from both sides. I can only hope it will not continue. I know, from what I have written, some of you are getting hot under the collar as I speak, and have your Post half rehearsed in your mind and ready to fire away the minute you finish reading this (if you have actually gotten this far) .
Hopefully, you will think about what you are about to write; think about how you are portraying yourself to the world. Perhaps by doing so you will chose not to demonstrate as much of the hostility and prudjudice you will say you do not have... Oh, believe me, it is there!
I have no more to say on the subject. Rip me apart as you wish. But know this, it will not bother me one way or another. It will only amuse me if anything. Therefore, if you wish to be my entertainment for today, rip away!

Thank you for standing up for us Canadians. It's really all fun and games until someone gets hurt. This thread was started for fun...hence the Canadian references BY Canadians. It was started by a "displaced" Canadian now living in the States.
If "I" want to cut down Canada, I have every right seeing "I" live here but it does hurt when someone else does it. Walk a mile in my shoes...
but lets get back to the fun and the glory of our Nation. Thank you.

I'll agree with the Canadian named Canadian. Some of us sure hate Canadians. In fact, I'll take it a step further and say some of us come on MD just to harass Canadians.
I've got at least two Canadians here who can back me up on that.

Kjac's right of course. A lot of us on here despise Canadiens, or is that Canadians...wtf....regardless, I know I've spent my entire MD career pointing out what I feel is painfully obvious....Canadiens/Canadians are evil. I don't think there's been a day go by when I didn't write something on MD lambasting Canadiens/Canadians.
I mean honestly...Labatt, Molson.....MOOSEHEAD!!! For the love of everything holy....they must be stopped, with extreme prejudice.
Oh sure...you snuck that banshee Celine Dion over the border disguised as a fence post, Bryan Adams most likely snuck over impersonating road kill....and the list goes on.
