I wanted to start a thread on stories of surviving near death or severe trama experiences that you have had or someone close to you had experienced. It's not about television or newspapers- so don't mention that stuff.
My Experiences:
2 years old,
Fell off a 2-story split my head open, grandma found me after hearing the sound of a water melon smash.....I found out later I had to have a draining tube installed because my facial features were non-detectable.
Stuck a bobbie pin in an electrical socket, and got thrown 10 ft.
3 years old,
I hung outside of the window of 7-story apartment called to my mom for help. She couldn't find me, then she looked out the window and there I was hanging on for dear life.
6 years old,
Got stabbed in the eye with a pencil by my classmate for reminding him that the teacher said not to poke holes in the eraser.
Used to share a bath with my younger brother, a plugged in electric lamp fell into the bathtub from on top of the toilet and the light bulb broke. I pulled it out of the tub and placed it back on the toilet while getting a tingling sensation from the lamp.
7 years old,
Threw seven lit matches down the gas tank of my dad's pick-up truck then placed my ear against the nozzel opening to listen to the cool howling sound. (I got a serious a$$ whipping for that).
10 years old,
Near drowning at the public pool
15 years old,
Best friend held his dad's loaded gun at me then pretended to be nut's. I was friggen scarred, He was cool after that we went to the back yard the gun slipped and fired but we could not find the round.
Girlfriend's dad almost shot me when I was trying to get into her room through the window for some nookie.
College years,
1000 volt instantaneous shock from a Capacitor in the lab which threw me up against the wall very hard.
Today,
Much mellower, I get an occational 277 volt shock......but I'm thinking I really need it for therapy.......HA, HA, HA
I have evaded several car accidents also.
Am I a lucky dog or what?
Give me some stories to read about you so that I won't have to feel so unique.

wow Always you`ve had some really scary experiences growing up..
The only one I can recall is when I was 6 and our house exploded...if my mom hadn`t been up feeding my baby sister I wouldn`t be alive to tell about it..
Well there was one more I jumped off a building on a dare..was supposed to land on the other building..broke my leg..never did that again.

Walked out of three totaled cars in the last year but the worst one was being underneath a mack truck doing 75 mph on the interstate. The front of the car was ripped off 4 inches from where I was sitting...everyone who saw or responded to the accident said we should not have survived. But the three of us walked out of the car and I was the only one with any injuries.

When I was 8 my younger brother knocked the car out of park and he was rolling down the hill towards a couple of 50' drops into water... Somehow I managed to get into the car and get it stopped.
My youngest son has thrown lit matches at kerosene.. (He's autistic and bipolar though so didn't REALLY know that he was endangering all of us)
The twins' father once took us out to the bombing range and put unexploded bombs on us. (He's in prison...)
My youngest is a miracle. I had my tubes tied when the twins were born and my then husband was in an accident when he was a teen that crushed his testicles so he was supposed to be sterile. She was QUITE the shock let me tell you!
One of the twins was clinically dead when she was born. Took 10 minutes for her to draw her first breath and she had been declared stillborn.
One of my brothers once almost cut his hand off with a chainsaw... Calm as an angel he walked in the back door, looked at my mother and said "I think I need to go to the emergency room... All the while he was putting pressure on the artery just above his wrist. 2 surgeries, several hundred stitches and the "damage" today is that he has a scar on his wrist and some nerve damage to that hand.

Didn't we do this at POF? I remember yours always.
Anyway just the highlights.
Motorcycle accident, destroyed my left arm and nearly bled to death. God Himself kept me from any asphalt damage although many don't believe me when I tell them.
Chainsaw kicked back and cut my face in half, literally. Fractured my skull in three places.
The list from childhood is too long and boring.
Needless to say God has been protecting me as long as I can remember.

I had a head on collision with a drunk driver on my motorcycle when I was 16.
He pulled out to pass a large piece of farming equipment just as I was meeting it.
I was in a coma for three months, all had given up on me except my Mom, she wouldnt let go.
Then one day I just woke up and asked a nurse if I could have a drink of water.
When someone asked me later if I remember what happened to me I told them Someone beat me up with a coffe pot, ( honest ) I have no idea where that came from.
I dont remember any near death visions or any other such thing, in fact I dont recall the accident at all.
All I know is I missed three months plus of my life.
An interesting side to that story is, my Doc decided to remove some of the three hundred stitches I had in me one day, the feeling of him doing that freaked me out so they decided to wait.
That evening I acquired a pair of tweezers and a small mirror and commenced removing my own stitches, ( the ones I could get to anyway).
When the Doc discovered this the next day he ws furious then he began removing the rest whether I liked it or not.
Ironically the only broken bone I suffered from that ordeal was my skull.

I started out as a premature baby. According to my birth certificate I was two month early. That was in 1945. I had double pneaumonia at that time also. I have fallen from heights of thirty or more feet with no broken bones, jumped off roofs, been thrown from horses, kicked by horses, been threatened with weapons, been in automobile wrecks that should have had no survivors, was burned over seventy percent of my body with 2nd and third degree burns, (my first white light experience), this was in 1953. The doctor's told my parents that there was no way that I would survive the burns. Jumped an automobile into the second floor of an apartment building. This was a convertable and I hit the building top first. My second white light experience. The almost ate it list is endless. My guardian angel had it rough when I was young, but has it easier now. Oh, according to my sugeon, I almost died from a very severe hernia last year.
