What is with these people who want to add you to their friends list and you don't even know who they are? Do you just indiscriminately approve their request or do you decline? If I have never had any interaction with the person I always decline. Everyone on my friends list is someone with whom I've interacted often with on MD or actually met in person. How can you call someone a friend if you have never even exchanged an email or at least a wink?
How does everyone else feel about this?

I agree...
I have to have had interaction with them.
I probably need to pare my list down now...I guess if one doesn't stay in contact, they aren't a very good friend.

I agree with you sign.
I use to my list to keep abreast of my friends here...whether they blog or whether they post new pics. And quite often, I'll use it to keep in touch with someone I've not seen around, but I know they've been online.
As for those who send requests that I've never had any contact with...I leave them to sit there on the list. This will prohibit that person from sending another request. I had thought this was indefinite, but read somewhere here recently that they request will fall off of the list after a while & they can send another...and, of course, I'll just leave that one sitting, too.

Mom...someone, I do not recall who, told me that those request would fall off the pending list after a certain amount of time. However, I've got a couple at least that have been there for at least 2 years.
Hey...if it keeps a dip from sending it over & over again...I'm leaving it there!

I have some that have been there over a year. There's one who kept requesting even though I told him my reason for not accepting. Then I learned the trick of just letting them sit.

Yep, and as a procrastinator extraordinaire, it's just doing what comes naturally. Even if I lose touch with friends, I leave them there...ya never know, and this way I'll know if they come back too.

I'm like sign. I only have people I've either met or known on here for a long time. I had one guy, with whom I had never heard of or corresponded, that got incredibly incensed when I refused. I even gave him an explanation, whichseemed to irritate him more. I like the suggestion of leaving them on there to block further attempts. Works for me, now.
