What is Your Conflict Style? Do you withdraw, force your ideas, smooth things over, confront and charge, or compromise?

so you and thor never .......

on topic, i think i use different techniques based on the situation, compromise is my favorite, but it can't be applied to all situations. i like to learn so i am willing to try something new, as in doing it your way. i am experienced so sometimes my way is better take my word for it....

It depends on the conflict. Actually, I've done all of the above at one time or another.

I generally want to be perfectly clear what happened to cause it.
And, sometimes, when I'm angry, I cry.
Weak, I know, but that's how it goes, if the matter is
or was very important to me.
I try to make a resolution if I can. Sometimes, in spite
of best efforts you have to just let it go.

Because of the matter of fact way I tend to speak/post, often times people take it as me being confrontational, which I am not. It really depends on how important I think what I have to say is..is it worth the conflict it may cause?.. if not.. I will try to explain myself better and then leave them to draw their own conclusions... I don't hold grudges but I have very little patience for those who want to twist my words and try to make me look like I am being bitchy or picking a fight. I do not like arguing but if I feel 100% strongly about the subject at hand I will try to debate it in a mature manner.

But sometimes you will run across people that just cannot see reasoning and it's best to just walk away from the entire situation.

Really good thread topic Willow

I'm like pam.. if I get really angry, I cry.. but it takes a helluva lot to get me to that point.. but if I start to cry, ya better walk away.. one thing that will set me off is elder abuse or neglect.
But most of the time, I just walk away.. I don't scream or yell.. and I refuse to stand around and let someone scream at me.

At work I usually try to smooth things over and/or compromise.

Personally,,I usually go off my stick for a while , then decide if doing anything at all is of any value in my life
