New Jersey may ban the Brazilian bikini wax as a health hazard.

The state Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling will meet April 14 to decide whether to ban genital waxing, a procedure made popular in Brazil to accommodate skimpy thong bikinis, the Associated Press helpfully points out. Normal bikini waxes would still be permitted.

The Philadelphia Daily News quotes Jeff Lamm, a spokesman for New Jersey's Division of Consumer Affairs, as saying the proposal was prompted by complaints to the board from two women who were injured and hospitalized.

The AP quotes skin care experts as saying genital waxing can be dangerous in that the hot wax can irritate or tear delicate skin in the bikini area, resulting in infections, ingrown hairs and rashes.

I don't know if it's a health hazard or not, but thank God I don't have to get one of these things.

YOUUUUUUUUCH!

Ya ain't gettin' near my privates with one of them things.

TRENTON, N.J. — New Jersey is smoothing out differences over a plan to ban bare-it-all bikini waxing.

The state on Friday decided to reverse course on the proposal after angry salon owners complained about losing business ahead of swimsuit season.

"It was an unnecessary issue," said spa owner Linda Orsuto. "In New Jersey especially, where the government has been picking our pockets for so long, it was like, 'Just stay out of our pants, will you?"

Looks like the wax pots are back on the burner again

My sister is an esthetician/cosmetologist. She told me that her employer requires her to do the "Special Hair Removal" according to her daughter/my niece.

These techniques are not just limited to pubic hair removal but also pubic hair removal from people's buttholes too..... Males and females alike.

I got to wondering a few things...

First, why is this popular anus hair removal needed for anyone? I mean what are they going to do with it????? Pose for magazine articles

Second, I am wondering if guys (and maybe gals too) are just having this proceedure done to them because they get off on it sexually (meaning while the proceedure is actually being performed on them) her daughter told her that some men actually get boners.

I love my sister but I really want to tease her about it. I think that she would hate me if I teased her about it.

Before she went to work for this employer she used to refuse those types of requests.

Oh one more thing there is another proceedure for anus bleaching...... what he hell is that all about?

I think the reason they remove hair from the anus is because face it...Who wants a hairy anus

Seriously though, I never have had a brazilian but quite a few of my girlfriends have and they love it...I'm not into torture so I won't get one. I do believe if you go to a salon that doesn't have the highest quality of cleanliness you might get something so I'm for it...

Razors work just as well "back there" unless someone will be looking at it in an "artistic" manner!

You could trim/wax, but it's there for a reason, it absorbs sweat which helps avoid rashes.

Well, I guess if a grown woman makes that choice, perhaps each should be required to show proof of health insurance.
The insurance companies will probably get on board with banning them.
But:
hot wax can irritate or tear delicate skin in the bikini area, resulting in infections, ingrown hairs and rashes
Is it worth it?

That way no one can violate you in your sleep.
