If I was down, My oldest son would wrap me in a "big squeeze", get right in my face and flair his nostrils..... I would completely lose it! Who could be upset with that face! That would make everyone laugh!

My mom had a way of cheering us up in a big hurry. She threatened to give us something to cry about.

Glad you said something, Bob...I was feeling sort of alone and deprived. My mom's way of cheering us up was to say something helpful along the lines of "Well it could be a whole lot worse..." and then describing some awful bloody maiming incident

My mom is just plain funny.
A boyfriend had split up with me one time, and I was feeling quite sad.
Mom looked at me with a straight face and said, "Honey. Into everyone's life, an a**hole must fall."
It got me giggling.

Well isn't that special. Mine would send us to the baby sitter who didn't believe in TV or books (unless it was a bible) who would procede to tell us of our impending doom and eternal damnation.

Spongy.....were our mom's sisters?!?! Howdy, Cuz!!!!
Danae....I'm thinking we might be related through our mothers also.....of course, the maiming incidents you heard were probably our experiences-------"If you touch that one more time, I'm going to break your arm off and beat you with the bloody stump!!!" or "If you say that again, I'll knock your teeth down your throat!"
God love her......she put the fear of Him in us and never did carry out the actual maiming!!!!

Katt,
My absolute favorite. Forget the candy bars. I can devour one of those cakes in a couple of days.
