This could be interesting. This topic seems to have sparked for than a few debates the last few days, and let's be honest...there are more than a few of us knocking on this door.
Have you been there?
How bad was it?
Are you there now and are you doing anything to make it easier?
I'm not sure how open and honest some people are willing to be, but the majority of my gal-pals on this site are pretty darn cool.

I went through it 5 years ago....Came and went in a months time...It was a breeze for me....Not any big deal.....Im one of the lucky ones.............

Not through it yet. I already detailed my experiences in another thread. The most bothersome symptom is the exhaustion and fatigue. Drives me nuts, since I was always a person with loads of energy. Well, I did read somewhere that once it passes, you will feel like a new person again. Okay, so PASS! I GET the picture! LOL.
Oh, let me add...you know, why is it people are so reluctant to discuss it, as though it's some kind of evil curse that women go through? I would have GLADLY stopped having periods after about age 25, had I had a choice. ( I mean naturally; of course I wouldn't go so far as to have surgery for that reason alone).

Nope we dont Pammy ...silly woman..  and I havent been there yet and really dont expect it for a good 10 years (dammit) My family seems to like to hang on to that stuff for a while my mom didnt go thru hers till she was like 60 and people say Im a carbon copy of her I really doubt its gonnabe a big thing tho. she sailed thru hers . heck I hardly give my periods a thought anyways never really BAD ones or PMSing going on .. but hten again I could be like my sis and have it be really bad .. great now im skeered

What's so hilarious about the younger model statemnt is that she MONTHLY goes through all the bitchy symptoms. Those of us "older models" are nearing the end of all that. Not to mention, we can also have sex seven days a week! Well, not that one "can't" have it while..well, you know..but ewww.
I think a lot of women who don't have the typical "tell-tale" symptoms (Iike the hot flashes and night sweats) assume they went through it asymptomatic. But there's so many symptoms associated with it, that you might have them and not even associate it with peri-/menopause. Headaches, fatigue, weakness, confusion, lethargy, dizziness, allergies sometimes flare up, foggy thinking, muscle and joint aches and pains...hell, I think there's like 35 symtpoms listed. So it's hard to tell whether it's meno or something else.
I always said "I'm either going through perimenopause, or I'm dying of some dreaded disease." LOL. So far, I'm not dead.
