I was reading the blogs this morning and found this post from nnyrocksmysocks
Could it be more obvious
WTF! Is it just me or is this a sign of a growing pool of self centered clueless boobs? How can you be "in a relationship" and have a profile setup on a dating site? That's like one foot in the door and the other out.
What is even more baffling is this person is offended when men contact her because she has a profile on a DATING SITE!
Crap, she'll probably end up working for the gooberment

I have in my profile that I am in a relationship, that I am just looking for friendship and online chat, that I am living with my boyfriend, that my idea of the perfect date is one with my boyfriend, and now I even have a photo up as my main image of me and my boyfriend if one would actually read the profile she posted....why would anyone contact her for a date..??
now..this is more than just a dating site....

you present a very good point for debate. as for me i concur. she could pretty much solve her problem by just changing her gender to male! LOL leave the pic up! i have no doubt that she/he would get a lot less emails and still be allowed to voice her/his opinion in discussions that interest her/him. LOL you have reminded him/her that this is a Match game and who knows more about treatment for a condition than a Doctor! it seems that there are more than a few here that think this site is just for dumping their lame drama and cheap poetry on the rest of us. it would be nice to get the female prespective from a gal in this game who is truely looking for a fella (or even a gal) that will Match her wants and desires. well gals, what do you think? should we just become one more chat room or stay a dating site? as usual, we be jammin

Huh? I've been on here for a few years and dated exactly two guys from this site...I have however made a pretty large number of friends here, and have no intention of losing touch with them because some people just can't read. I met my SO (on another site) a bit over two years ago, and changed my profile as soon as it was obvious to me that we were in an exclusive relationship (yeah, he had me at hello - that was the first date).
If someone says they're in a relationship and are just here for friends, why would someone contact her? Because he enjoys rejection, and WANTS to get his knickers in a twist over it? This really is a community - lots of folks who are in relationships and frequently both partners...I don't see where I'm a clueless boob because I enjoy the forums and want to stay in touch with the friends I've made here.
Of course, that's JMHO as usual. Personally I don't really care what strangers think of me, so feel free to think I'm a jerk. You won't be the first either..

We like you just the way you are Heaven And I agree, people should read profiles, and not everyone on this site is currently single.

I just stick around for the abuse. She props up and supports Willow trees for a living. I guess I would get bored holding up trees all day too, and it apparently gives her plenty of time for posting on MD.
Someone say abuse?

Apparently you don't, either, but it's good that one of your kind is showing themselves in public instead of harassing people through private email.

Easy killers, he is just expressing his opinion.
Hell, if he is actually willing to meet and date someone from here then he deserves a medal!!!

Actually, I go to school for music education :-)
God forbid I use a website whose mission statement is "A dating community for singles and friends" to find friends! :-P I found my boyfriend here, and we have both stuck around on here because neither of us sees the need to leave a website which welcomes "friends" just because we found a partner.
Something to keep in mind; if MD didn't want people "in a relationship" and looking for "friends" on here, then they wouldn't have those options available for profiles :-)
Have a nice day Texas!
Sincerely,
A self-centered clueless boob

Hmmmm...a medal? Nope, not until AFTER he goes out on at least one date - we're TOUGH about the requirements for a medal around here...
Sorry Tex - many of us are in relationships here and go thru this more than you'd probably believe. If a guy's supposedly really interested in someone and not just browsing pictures, I don't think it would be asking a lot to expect that the guy read your profile...and if he obviously didn't, the reaction is pretty immediate.
P.S. not to mention that her pic is of her and her huggy...
I had the same complaint untill someone told me to look to the far right of my screen Yep, and here he is still on a dating site although he's in a relationship!

At least the women you have a problem with are honest about being involved. Some of the married men around here forget to mention that little fact.
