but I do believe things like that happen more than we know. Ask anyone who has ever worked in a fast food joint what goes on sometimes....especially when someone they don't like comes through the drive through!!

Or if their manager yells at them for something.. they take it out on the customers.. according to a young friend who works at the local McDonald's.
He told me he has seen employees drop meat patties on the floor, pick them up, throw them on the grill, and serve them to customers... and worse.. but at that point I said I didn't want to hear anymore, just decided
I will never be going back there again..

In another life, before i became a nurse, I worked in the food service industry (among other things).
Translation.....small cafes in a very small town, including 13 years as a Pit Master in my MIL's BBQ place.
We never did anything to harm anyone (or their food), even though we may have wanted to.
Some are just brought up with more respect than others.
I'm not saying this doesn't happen, but people shouldn't fear to enjoy a meal out (or order in) now and then.
Pizza anyone??

We have Domino's here, but how it survives I'll never know.
No real New Yorker would ever eat there.
It's not even pizza compared to the real thing you get in a real New York city pizza place.
John's on Bleeker Street or Da Vinci in Bensonhurst ... now that's a freakin' pizza!

About five years ago, there was a Hardees burger joint in the town next to me. I never ate at that place because on my first visit there, I noticed the employees walking on french fries that were piled up on the floor. I turned around and walked out. A couple of months later the place was shut down. One of the team members was found to be spitting into the burgers he was making for members of the police dept. Turns out that employee was HIV positive as well. No bueno.

EWWWWWWWWW
I got a story too...
Many years ago I ate at a Jack-In -The -Box in Tucson, Arizona. It was one of the only places in town open after midnight in those days.
The service was horrible because they didn't have enough people and it took forever to get tht food.
I went outside to eat. Took a bite of the burger and, as I bit down, a roach jumped out of the other side of the burger.
I instinctively threw the thing about 100 yards downfield. TOUCHDOWN!

Both of my brothers (who used to work in the fast food business) told me that employees spitting, wiping boogars, dipping food into dirty dish water or onto the floor before serving people happens all the time and it especially happens to people they don't like..... like complainers, people that they know they hate or law enforcement officers.
Sometimes they don't even have to hate you. They do it because they don't want their boss knowing that they dropped something on the floor.
LJ, you think that's bad, check this out.
^ Pretty enlightening movie for all the people who serve food to Americans.

We got a Domino's in town last year. I finally went in and didn't really like the pizza--plus they didn't even have green olives to put on it! So haven't been back. I'm with Wiccked, I like to eat at Subway where you can watch what they do. Although who knows if they do anything to the food before it's put out! LOL I worked at a pizza place for a year and as far as I know no one ever did anything to the food there. I guess it takes all kinds!

About twenty years ago, I worked for Domino's for eight years, and almost bought a franchise in Toronto, Ontario.
My first Domino's boss, owner of seven franchises in the Region of Waterloo Ontario, upheld every policy, satisfied customers regardless of cost or pride, and made Domino's a place to be proud to work.
There are idiots anywhere you go, in all vocations. Unfortunately, it's those few who ruin things for the multitudes.... in general. The larger a company gets, the more difficult it is to maintain rigid standards, and when a company franchises out, it gets even tougher.
The Domino's that Tom Monaghan started in Ypsilanti, MI, was a company to believe in.
Edited to add: I agree that those bastards should go to jail. They have jeopardized the reputation of a company that is built on integrity. Literally built on it.

l east at Subway , you see everything that is happening to your food Except what happens to it while it is being cut up and placed in those serving bins.
There's many a slip twixt the cup and the lip.
