I grew up living by a schedule and married someone who wings it. Major conflict. Has that happened to you? How do you live?

mother had a schedule; she took her little helpers and slept all day while her maid cleaned and cooked...father was in his offiice by 9am everyday...we was always late for church on sunday and that was embarassing and traumatic...as a captian of industry on the railroad I was never late or absent from duty in 30 yrs...now that I'm retired and on the dole, well...I heard the trains been running late

I lived a very scheduled life for too many years. My Oma ran a tight ship and so did my Husband.
There is much too be said for spontaneity!

I have this tendency to procrastinate a bit and rather have fun when not running ragged yanno?? I totally understand going to bed early on school/work nights but a rigorous schedule?? nahh me and MAC wing it all the time..

one of the great conflicts in my life has been and still is dealing with those who "say" they prefer to schedule their lives. as was mentioned earlier how can you be continuiously late if you are on a schedule? my Ex seemed to be forever late for work LOL and yes we were quite often late for church. i have no problem with being late for anything, just as long as you remain late to keep a balance. LOL is it possible to be one or the other or even better, a balance of both! try very hard to be on time but should you be late don't git your panties in a wad!!! as for me, i set a schedule and wing it from there. we be jammin

I know work requires a schedule, typically anyway...so what I'm mostly referring to is life beyond work...house cleaning, breakfast, lunch & dinner and etc...how rigid one is on that doesn't have to mean they are a stick in the mud; can't still wing it on other things and have fun. It means certain things get done on a regular basis in order to have a reasonably clean house, yard, vehicles and etc. to be able to enjoy your own surroundings to the fullest. Hit and miss or hit and run is hard for me to take for any real extended period of time unless I'm in a funk myself. Can anyone relate or am I the oddball on this subject too?

Definitely a wing nut here. My SO is more of a schedule type, so it's a good thing we don't live together...'if it's 10 in the morning it's time to change the litter box' just doesn't work for me. On the other hand, I'm the one who's pretty much established when we get together, and you know how Pavlov's dogs were, salivating when they heard a bell? With us it's more like 'it's party time' and it's instant turn on. OK, maybe it doesn't ever take much....we're always willing to wing it too...

In general though he's scheduled for things like cleaning, and I'm not. It gets done when I feel like it...maybe because if I stall, somebody else might take care of it?

My schedule isn't so much "at 10am do such and such" it's on specific days get such and such done before 9pm

Work days are pretty much scheduled. They have to be with work, school, meals, bath, and bed.

Weekends are for winging it.

Of course, nothing is carved in stone.

my favorite schedule was one summer I lived with Mean Marion from Mpls and after work she would come home, take a 20 minute shower, and then put on a skirt and some flavors...she ruin't and spoil't me...

(course, that was because I'm worth it!)

I work full time so I pretty much have a schedule for my ER shifts.....but when I'm in the office for Infection Control/OccH, my schedule is flexible. For the most part I live my life around my job. Only a few more years then I'll be winging it for sure

My situation depends on the day of the week.
I was picking up my baby niece from school 3 days a week.
Those days require a bit of a schedule.
Other days, I wing it...though I do sort of go by an agenda....I'm not on anyone's schedule but my own!
