I noticed today the chatroom is gone.... permanently according to the notice,
Like everything it was an evolving place, it would grow and shrink, Manners improved and worsened...
I will miss it, and the friends I made there, I've wandered this site for a longtime, sometime in 02' I started hanging out here on a daily basis, the chatroom my home,
so many come and go... any memories? stories?

 Hi Grumble!
I didn't go to the chatroom often but when I did there were only a few people chatting and no one ever welcomed me or said hi when I came in. So I pretty much stayed away.
But if enough people ask, maybe it would come back. You never know. I used to go to the MSN chatrooms all the time until they closed them. I lost contact with a lot of people I knew then. But I prefer the forums now as I couldn't keep up with the chatrooms anyway. (I do have one chatroom I visit maybe once every month or so but just to say hi to people who have come there from other sites.)

The chatroom here lost its appeal to me quite some time ago.
It seemed that MD quit moderating it &, imo, it went down hill.
I heard lots of talk about things that went on in there even after I left.
I know what a good time it could be, though, and I know how much company it could be, too. It was also a GREAT way to get to know folks on line.
I recall a couple of times in the past that they chat feature was killed...maybe it is just a temporary thing & will be back in the near future.

The message says IM's have been removed too  Wow...some people know how to ruin it for everyone, I sure hope I'm not considered to be one of those "some people"

i never used the chatrooms and only used the im with luvs.. a time or 2... and i rarely use yahoo messanger either..Sweet N Louisiana

I used to go in there sometimes and it's not that the people were mean (from what I saw) but they just wouldn't allow you into the conversation unless you were part of their little group...so...I dunno the disappearance of the chat room isn't causing me grief.

Maybe MD closed both the chat room and IM because people use the forums and blags like they are chat rooms.
Or maybe MD is on it's way out. I sincerely hope not, but if so, I'm thankful for those whom I've come to know here and I am eternally grateful to all that there is that I met him before it happens.

Well, I enjoyed the chat room. People were always nice to me. I was invited into conversations, and had fun meeting different people from MD. Taking away the IM is not nice either. What was the reason for that? Next will it be that we can't post pics anymore?
Very very sorry that I went gold. Trust me....that will never happen again.

ahh before ya know it people who pay to be here will cancel & just be free members, then soon after that MD will have no choice but to shut it's doors. May open a whole new world outside the computer for some people! "Look . . . there IS life on earth!!"

Just speaking for myself here, but my gold membership is up tomorrow and I'll be renewing again as soon as I (once again) figure out how. I think I'll be getting an email reminder that will take me to the right link, but it's one of those things I don't bother remembering.
I've never been much for IM and chat here...I've used them a little bit but never got as hooked as I did on the forums. I've made a lot of friends on here and while I'm in touch with some on personal email and phone, I kind of like staying in touch here too. I've been a paying member as long as I've been active in the forums, and I still feel I owe MD for bringing me in touch with some wonderful people...I'm definitely renewing as long as I can afford it...
 and a BIG and a  to the Mods!

I have to agree with Heaven. I have loved MD too much to be bitter. Is ok. When you have a brain, you can figure other alternatives out.

Just read a few newsitems about userplane (the company that supplies im & chat) seems there are rumours that they will go out of business.
Some other sites removed chat & im for that reason( the site with the fish did), so sounds to me it happend here too.
the site of userplane is stillup though, might be a nasty rumour by a competitor.
Will miss it though, met a lot of nice people in there.
